Description

Paulie was an average man with an average life, a boring job that he hated and no friends or social circles to speak of.  Haunted by childhood trauma, he has always had to keep his emotions in check as his rage boils too close to the surface.  But when a mysterious light sweeps him away to a new life filled with terrors and danger he may find a use for all the rage and anger that he once locked inside.  He may learn truths beyond humanity’s wildest expectations and meet strange new beings in this unfamiliar land that may not have his best interests in mind as he struggles through cramped starships, across low gravity moons and through crowded alien markets.  Will he meet powerful new friends or sinister enemies? He could learn truths about humanity so shocking that they may just shatter the very foundations of the greater galactic community itself.  But Paulie is a fighter, he would never let a little thing like the very fate of the galaxy stand between him and what he sees as right.  No, he will take each challenge in stride till he eventually ends up at the top of this new world, or winds up dead.

the mc is an overpowered human, while everyone else is made of styrofome. The average xeno is a dumbass. Some lizard-greys abduct humans and those humans cause trouble. You get the drill. considering how jverse is basically dead this is a very good alternative, and just a good novel by itself.

I love the story so far, and I like how it wrapped up his place in the galactic community near the end, while still leaving mystery and questions to be solved. I'm sure it will lead to many adventures, and the eventual choice of letting humanity free, or keeping them contained in their little bubble. Time will tell

The principle of the story is not entirely novel but it is rare to see it explored outside of a much shorter format and I applaud the author for what is a good piece of HFY.
It is (aside from the criticism below of derailment) well paced and developments tend not to overstay their welcome. Natural dialogue is also written very well, though I feel outside of this that things are sometimes described in excessive detail.
However, the story suffers from regular typos, and often leaves frayed ends in character dialogue/thoughts. This is especially prominent with the MC, who will often follow a chain of thought and then disregard it as the author decided the paragraph should go in a different direction, or says something out of nowhere as the author realized something could do with explanation. There is also some inconsistency with how powerful the MC should be, and i should point out that it has thus far not been explained why he is fine in what has surely got to be lower air pressure given the much lower surface gravity. (Though I admit that I tend to skim more when grammatical errors are present as to not get caught up on them and may have missed the explanation)
The example which motivated me to write this review being in chapter 23, when the MC suddenly stops focusing on the jargon worm issue he was asking about just earlier because Jakiikii finished unpacking groceries, and then has a headache causing the story to get back on track. It would, in my opinion, do better without this derailment.
Aside from these criticisms, though, I think this story has the potential to be a 5 star for me if it were more carefully edited.
