- BarokRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I read the book in his first edition, and I have to say, it was really polished. Leo is much more realistic than before, the fights and Leo's development as he fights and survives, the system update, and the backstory.
I can't really wait for more, so author, get behind that screen and write!!!! - HuntingClawRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Story is really engaging. If you take away mc annoying obsession with the obvious. For a man, he nags a lot.
Accept reality and if crying will let you get over it, then you do that instead of incessant nagging.
I think the world-building and everything is on point.
Power system is great as well, grammar is excellent. I just started and I will be updating this in the future.
Well, a decent story, but I prefer my mc to be human, just a preference thing, nothing personal.
Anyway, it was a pleasant ride but I think I'm gonna stop here and keep searching. - OriginalRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Starting with an epic myth played out in front of your eyes, continuing with a bloody road to evolution, and ending with a promise for more.
The very world starts to simultaneously evolve and devolve, turning into a lovecraftian arena, ruled by the void, and the system.
This story is bloody brilliant, in the best of ways. - TelRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Pretty good start, really hits the ground running.
There are some bits and bobs in the plot that are a bit confusing to start with but really it's okay to just ignore them and wait for the story to circle back around with an explanation a bit later.
I want to call it slice of life, but there is way too much action. But really it feels like end of the world slice of life. (happy sheug)
The author has a decent sense of emotion too with laughter (and other feels) here and there.
Worth a read, but as fast as the pace currently is, up to current still feels a bit introductory. - Thiago_Gomes_333Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0One of the first things I can say about this story is that it truly delivers on its premise — and it does so without unnecessary padding. Here, we genuinely witness the journey of a human protagonist becoming a monster. There is no middle ground, no comfortable return to a human form (at least not so far). Leo dives headfirst into this new universe and everything it brings with it, whether opportunities, horrors, or irreversible transformations. From the beginning of Book 1 to the end of Book 4, the message is clear: adapt or die. It’s that simple.
That said, let’s talk about the story itself.
One of the aspects that impressed me most at the beginning was the strong sense of fatality it conveys. I’m not just referring to the number of deaths caused by the protagonist, but to the very onset of the apocalypse itself. The story portrays the true lethality of an event of this magnitude with remarkable effectiveness. Entire cities are completely devastated, overrun by monsters and the invasive flora of a new universe, with only a handful of survivors scattered amid the chaos. Surprisingly, this level of impact is rare within this niche. It may sound strange to say, but many apocalyptic stories fail to convey the real weight of mass destruction — they mention millions of deaths in passing and move on. In A Universe of Bloody Evolution, however, I felt that weight. I felt the desolation in every chapter.
Another strong point is the progression of the narrative. Nothing happens so quickly that it feels rushed, yet it never drags at a sluggish pace either. The author strikes a solid balance between world-building and plot advancement. He takes the time necessary to establish the setting and its rules without resorting to unnecessary filler. The universe created here is particularly compelling, especially the brutal survival aspect in which those who adapt the fastest gain the greatest advantage. This dynamic creates an engaging blend of primal instinct, evolution, and raw co - YmereRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Love the story. Great job. Very Rare to see post apocalypse litrpg that seem like they will continue. Thank you so much for sharing. The themes of evolution and how it is done in this story are things I have seen before but most of those stories seem to get abandoned quickly. I hope you keep up the work.
- YohaoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm no expert in grammar, so for me it is pretty good, not having lots of mistakes or weirdly constructed phrases that break the immersion on the story.
The author have a really nice balance when describing places and fights, not too much that it starts to bore you neither too little that we get confused about it.
We didn't get a lot of characters yet but the few we had were pretty interesting, Leo's father was pretty deep and well thought out, the two others survivors that Leo find die pretty soon after so we don't really get to know much about them, besides their desperation, Leo's sister is mentioned a lot but we will probably not be seeing her for quite some time.
Leo was really well estructured as a character, he's not a Gary Stu for the reader to project themselves, his story and dramas pre-system were really well shown right on the first chapters and keep being further expanded. He's no perfect man nor murderhobo, neither is he stupid, the authors subtly show us his progression in mindset as he overcome challenges and firm his resolve in order to find and protect a family he don't even know if he still has. Leo uses simple tactic from really early which is really satisfying to read after so many other stories make the MC stumble and struggle for far too long before they use them.
I really liked the "flavor" of the system apocalypse of this story, the system clearly is not omnipotent and all knowing as it fails to do its duty fast enough and Leo is tainted by the void energy. The attributes are simple yet the soul stat seems to still have some secrets to be explored. The world is ever changing and growing, even in such a small frame of time as we had till now(if I'm not mistaken 3 days). The little snippets of the vast multiverse way beyond Leo's universe is also quite interesting and made me really curious about the existing factions.
Anyway, thanks for writing and keep up the incredible work, Chaos ! - remmeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is easily one of the best books I’ve read on this app and I am always eagerly anticipating the next chapter. The world building is immaculate, I’m always looking forward to seeing what Leo and Nyx will do next. Not much else to say aside from if you are going to read something on this app or website, you should definitely consider reading this.
- ÆiosRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A really great story, coming back. I read the original version and enjoyed it quite a lot, and this one is even better.
Spoilers below:
The setting is pretty grim and brutal, after all, this is a full blown apocalypse on an universal level. It's also beautiful in an alien sort of way. It reminds me of the living planet from James Cameron's Avatar, visually, if red instead of blue. So far we only encountered just a few types of monsters, and they were straightforward (zombies, crows, boars and rats), though the ecology of the world seems to change constantly as the Void corrupts it more and more.
Leo is a likeable and pretty fleshed out main character. His backstory may be a bit generic, but it's done well. He has emotions, is not a murderhobo, and approaches problems with rationality.
Action scenes are great and given enough detail as to know what's happening, but not too much as to burden the reader.
Grammar is great, I don't think I spotted any glaring typos or odd sentences.
The story is still in the beggining phase, but we already got hints of something greater going on in the backstage, so I'm looking forward to how it develops. - Dionysus God Of MadnessRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A bloody Evolution is as i said in the title an extremely refreshing take on the LITRPG and Evolution genre, especially in a dark apocalyptic world, many times i see authors build a world designed to be gritty and dark with large portions of the population who have perished and yet through sheer luck and plot armor everyone the main character loves and cares for survives and is conveniently just waiting wherever the MC knew they lived to be found, Chaos sets himself apart quickly by staying true to his world building, making for a tragic and brutally honest story.
Then there is the Evolution aspect i find that the mental changes both to his conscious and unconscious brain having been done to him is a really nice take on the monster evolution process when with so many main characters its all about them adjusting to a new body Chaos writes about a character who's had his body and brain altered his basic human instincts torn out of him and replaced with those of a monster, everything familiar in the back of his brain changed.
The characters are well written and rounded, occasionally i have felt some were a bit over the top in their rejection of anything monstrous but it never reached a level where i had to suspend my disbelief over all characters were well written explored and given sincere personalities that they stuck to and didn't just bend over backwards for the main character
there's also a really healthy balance between System/LITRPG screens and story screens so you never feel like you aren't seeing the system enough and i never felt like i was seeing it too much either.
So my overall review i think its only fair for me to give:
World building: Five stars
Characters: Four and a half stars
Writing and Execution: four and a half stars
plot/storyline: Five stars
