Description

The world is a scary, beautiful, unfair and lovely place and it is filled with countless different types of people. Everyone in this world is just trying to find their place in everything, and Emily is no exception.

Emily Cyra is a high school student living in San Francisco, California. She is just living a normal life when one day she is attacked by a ferocious demon and her life is changed forever. She is saved by people with special powers who call themselves Guardians and she begins to learn about the world of magic. Follow Emily as she learns about this strange new world and how she fits into it.

Overall
Focused and Intentional!
The first two chapters (1.1-1.2) of Guardians that I’ve read have shown a lot of promise! Kym0n has crafted a very tight narrative with purposeful scenes.
The concept itself has tons of potential and she’s done a good job of setting up some intrigue between herself and a classmate which I hope will expand into an interesting B plot (or maybe it’ll even weave back into the A plot??)
Either way, I’m excited to see Kym0n continue this story as she polishes her art!

## Spelling
Is spelling consistently correct?
Yes! I don’t remember if I found any incorrectly spelled words, so I’m going to assume there weren’t any.

The correct homonyms are used (there, their, they’re | then, than | etc.)
Word choices make sense within sentence/paragraph context
There are no typos
There are certainly some words which don’t quite make sense within the context from a stylistic choice. I think the grammar itself is fine, though. More about the style choices below.

Punctuation is used correctly.
No run on sentences
No (confusing) sentence fragments
Punctuation used in line with their grammatical purpose
There were one or two run-on sentences, but they’re rare and not noticeable unless you’re paying attention! Most of them appear to be during dialog, where actions and dialog are intermixed all within one sentence. Not a big deal overall.

The structure of the writing is both correct and good.
Paragraphs flow well

The sentences by themselves are fine. There are a lot of paragraphs with little description/activity. This leads to a pacing/flow issue which is a bit jarring. More on that below under Mood & Pacing sections.
