NOW ON HIATUS WHILE I FIND MY PASSION FOR WRITING AGAIN.Currently 132,000 words.

This web novel is being produced for two reasons:

1) All of my completely original ideas are super tough to write.

2) I've read a boat load of mediocre system apocalypse stories and wanted to know how hard it was to write a generic one that didn't trip over itself every chapter.

----------------

This is a self-aware generic LitRPG Xianxia System-Apocalypse novel full of well-enough-written wish fulfillment with a main character whose combined powers and stat distributions you’ve probably never seen before.Join Niko on his adventures as he carries humanity through a basic story that’s way better than all other basic System apocalypse stories! Keyword, basic.

The "harem" aspect is really just a few casual relationships, so don't be put off thinking there'll be misogynistic writing. There will be stronger romance down the line. If it tells you anything, there are zero romantic partners within the first 100,000 words.

...

By the way, Tao Wong has the trademark on "System Apocalypse" and doesn't like everyone using it as the name of a subgenre. We as a community can actively make it even more generic by describing every novel where it fits as a "system apocalypse" in their Amazon reviews.

Writing this as a response to a few of the top reviews on this story... Are we reading the same thing? Did the author ninja-edit all the chapters before I got here? I mean yeah, I'll grant that the dialogue can be long compared to other stories I've read, and his speeches are a bit preachy and more than a bit meta-aware, but that's what we're here for, right? Did y'all even read the title?
In seriousness, this is a fantastic start to a story. The system and world feel fleshed out, the main character's actions and thought processes are logical and well-justified in the context of the story, and the exploration is really interesting. I'm loving the latest developments expanding the range of people the MC is encountering. You're a teensy bit clunky on the dialogue sometimes but that's to be expected when you're putting words on pages at this volume. My only major concern is that the pace is a bit slow, and slow-paced stories have a tendency to burn out their authors.
Can we expect to see more chapters of this? I hope so 👀. Ignore the negative reviews, author. Write what you want to write (as long as it's more of this story).

An interesting story that develops in all the right places. A Generic LitRPG that knows what it is and what it wants to achive. If you like any story with on this site you will love this one as well. Long chapters that feel small and make you wanting more.

I genuinely thought this was a spiteful insult to Tao Wong for trademarking the words 'System Apocalypse'. Imagine my surprise to find out it's actually a story!
Anyway, I was going to write a System Apocalypse story after DD, and I'd much rather you fight him in the courts for the right to keep those two precious words in your title. So good luck, you're officially my bear in this race. Take my five stars, grow big and strong, and then WIN! You must, you're our—the writing communities—only hope!
Get on Amazon Marketplace and fucking stay there you beautiful beast of a story. I believe in you.
    Love,
    Luke.

This story would be weird in a vacuum. The main character would be absurd and offputting. He goes on long strange soapbox rants and is at least borderline psychopathic.
    But he's just so refreshing!
This story is the perfect blend of wish fulfillment and meta genre content. If you read a lot of xianxia and want to follow a character that doesn't make sense, that doesn't always seem real but is always satisfying - I think this is the story for you. It shocked me with how fun it is.
Outside of that I was pleasantly surprised to find that other characters, while existing to further the wish fulfillment for sure, also are often multi dimensional. His coworkers and friends seem to have coherent personalities and at least a few have already shown themselves to have some level of adaptability. The world is definitely warped to make things plot armoury in a fun way, but it's never so bad that it destroys the immersion and having somewhat believable characters goes a long way towards keeping that delicate balance intact.
I'm actually pretty excited and hopeful that a character other than Niko (the lead) will have an actual character arc.
At the end of the day this story is just fun. Don't think too hard about it and enjoy it after a long day, like Niko would!

While i don't like reviewing after only a few chapters, the chapters are BIG chunky boys so far, as I feel there is enough to comment on.
Firstly, it's quite a humerous, self-aware system apocalypse, so if you aren't into the irreverent self-aware meta-humour a character who has been reading these stories for years and was secretly hoping one would happen entails, then you may lose some enjoyment.
If, however, you are on board with the concept, then you will have a good time, wishes fulfilled and all *smile*
The MC is excellent in the context of the story, and works well as an audience foil too, exploring the new reality. Side characters are currently a little ill-defined, but its early days, and maybe we've even seen some of those haremettes to fulfil our wishes, eh? *wink*
Combat system is clear, basic for now but being Xianxia no doubt has plenty of room to escalate ludicrously. The cultivation stuff is also clearly explained and should be easy enough to follow.
No real issues noticed with grammar etc.
All in all, a really good start, and a worthy place on my follow list. If you like any of the things in the brilliant, catchy title (which brought me in, i'll admit) this is worth checking out for sure.

I'm enjoying this as if it were a metaironic work, but I'm pretty sure it's just partially self-aware. Either way, it hits all the cliches it's going for, and the writing is decently competent. Narrative seems pretty basic, though considering the premise, I can't really critique that. I hope this story is continued.

    It's a system apocalypse.
And a barley average one at that. Its self aware about its wish fulfillment so as long as the characters make jokes about it and recognise it I suppose its makes up for that a little. In fact you could even add some kind of ability that increase the main characters luck or something so anything that happens is not completely unexplainable.
Anyway its OK so far, except for one point.
That's the main characters or even all the characters but the main one is just so bad he eclipses all the problems with the others.
The author seems to be wanting to make him both awkward and shy (for relatability??) whilst also being the edgy, tough, "im the boss follow my orders" type of guy.
He just comes across as an asshole - an incredibly cringy and edgy one, the "yep this guy is a reddit/discord mod and is trying to act tuff" one which would be fine if it were a character flaw that was done intentionally to teach a lesson or force a plot point ect, or even if other characters commented on it, but nope he literally talks mad shit to a group of people and they're just fine with that. Like literally tells a group of people that they can't do something that would benefit them but he can because and I quote " I am better than you" and then continues monologuing. Without a doubt any sane individual would have smacked him across the face at this point and then strangled him, not to mention in such a stressful situation it would not have been that strange for an angry mob to beat him to death.
He also gives these really lame and cringy speeches, (I literally could not bear to read them and had to skip them) which again would be fine if that was a character trait, oh look he is a massive loser and then gets laughed at, but nope everyone's just like "cool".
The characters feel like NPCs, for example in the 3rd chapter a little girl is killed, now even if you don't care, even the most socially inept person wouldnt make a joke about it. Not our MC tho, "a good mornin

MC is an imature asshole and a an idiot. Only excuse for him being OP is his good inagination that he throws himself against danger recklessly, but survives thanks to plot armor, which is even acknowledged by him. MC laughs and forgives a planned murder attempt by his students, who thought he might be anti-LGBT, not long after he murdered three humans in cold blood for trying to kill-steal from him. Read if you dont mind cat-boys and "sexy goblinesses". The author cannot make his mind about the MC, how murders casualy and forgives to others next. Author should make his mind if the MC is a saint or an asshole and stick eith it. That being said, the world building is decent, there is interaction, politicking with other characters from the get go, feels realistic before it goes off rails. The start is solid and fresh, if the story is reworked from the end of the first tutorial part, and MC has less idiotic luck, is less idiot, this could be really good story. In the state it is in right now. Style and grammar is good and doesnt interfere with overall experience.

Is annoying, immature, and edgy. There is admittedly some level of self awareness on the author's part in this regard, as characters apparently look uncomfortable at what the main character says such times, but it doesn't change the fact that it's very hard to like the main character.
He honestly reads like when an isekai protagonist meets another isekai'd person, you know, the kind that scream "I'M THE PROTAGANIST, I'M SPECIAL, EVERYTHING I DO IS JUSTIFIED" before the actual main character eventually kills them
