Flowind Sect: Rise of the Eternal Dao

Description
In the vast and unforgiving world of Xianyuan, strength determines survival, and the weak are mere stepping stones for the powerful. Amid this merciless landscape, a mysterious cultivator named Joshua—already standing at the peak of the cultivation world—receives a harrowing vision: a foreign force will one day descend upon Xianyuan, bringing untold destruction and chaos.
Knowing he alone cannot halt the tide, Joshua vanishes from the world stage and founds the Flowind Sect, a sanctuary of cultivation, discipline, and unity. Unlike other sects obsessed with power and dominance, Flowind stands on a different principle—preparation through enlightenment. Joshua takes in five personal disciples, each from drastically different backgrounds, scarred by pain, loss, or desire. He guides them not only to power, but toward understanding the Dao and their place in the cosmos.
As centuries pass, these disciples train others, forming a lineage that stretches across generations. From humble beginnings, Flowind grows into a beacon of hope and strength, spreading its teachings far and wide. Each generation of disciples carries new burdens, battles internal demons, and confronts the growing darkness creeping from the edges of the world.
Through trials of loyalty, betrayal, love, and war, the Flowind Sect carves its name into history—one disciple at a time. But the ultimate test still looms: when the skies darken and the invaders arrive, will Joshua’s vision and preparation be enough? Or will even the most cultivated spirits fall before the storm?

I really enjoyed the story, the characters are interesting and all have something that set them apart from each other. The character interactions are engaging and really interesting, especially since most of them are polar opposites.
I also enjoyed the fact that albeit it being a cultivation novel, the author did their best to set it apart and spin it in a unique way. Especially with the power system that is set in place. Overall this novel has a lot of potential.
The Bad:
It's too fast (in my opinion), it feels like the author is rushing towards the alien invasion aspect of the novel and doesn't lay the groundworks needed to properly convey the world to the reader.
For example it's never explained where exactly the sect is located, we know it's on a mountain but what borders it? What does it have in the surrounding? Like suddenly the author says it has a grove near it and I guess you just gotta roll with it cause you don't really have a mental picture of what the place looks anyway.
The story also focuses too much on the main character and his disciples, rather than the progress/build up of the sect itself. Like suddenly you find out that there are 200 other people in the sect and it's just randomly thrown in there, and you never know when or how the mc even started recruiting. Oh and there's also elders suddenly mentioned but they never make an appearance in the story so it just seemed out of left field. Especially with how important that position is, you'd think the author would mention when and how they even got there.
Overall I think the author has a good setting, good goal, and good characters. All that's left is to flesh them out and better convey the world in a more relaxed pace rather then the sonic pace we're currently on. For now though, it's more of a skeleton that needs to have meat added for it to be anything downright amazing. I hope the author continues writing so that it's full potential can be realized!
