Description
Warning: This story is bloated and meandering. There isa completed re-writewhich tells almost exactly the same story with a great deal of additional content in almost exactly half the words.
Ingrid's life changes forever one day when the Taisian Air Navy hosts an airshow in her sleepy seaside town. It is there that she sees a foreign princess flying a beautiful machine powered by fire elementals. As a cold war between two empires escalates, Taisia is rapidly expanding its Air Navy for the inevitable proxy war with the nation of Ayaru to the south. It is during this turbulent time that Ingrid joins the Air Navy and meets Vaska, a lonely aeronautical engineer who fears she is cursed.
But the skies and snowfields of Taisia are not the only arena at stake, for the battle quickly spills over into the elemental planes themselves.

- TheAngryJerkRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5The first 10 chapters were all over the place, chapter 11 onwards the story gets a lot more coherent. The pacing needs adjusting so it flows between chapters. Plenty of interesting ideas going but they need space to breathe.
Right now it just isn’t hooking me in, the stakes are neither here nor there.
