Description
*** This book was writting more than a year a half ago. Waaaay before recent global events ***
One thousand years after the near extinction of the human race by a species of energy-based aliens, the human race has expanded across the galaxy using the advanced technology developed to fight the aliens.
Four factions control 95% of galactic space and it is in one of those factions, the Great Galactic Britannian Empire, that Rory Sheehan is born in the year 3234. At the age of ten, Rory is found to be exceptionally gifted in the use of the special energy used by humanity to live and thrive. But he is betrayed before he is able to become what he could be. He is damaged so he cannot use the power he was granted. Thus he and what remains of this family are exiled to the far reaches of imperial space with nothing and nobody to help.
Join Rory as he works to recover what was taken. Travel the galaxy, explore worlds, battle empires, and, most of all, grow strong enough to defend what matters most.

- GallinarrRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Score not "me" official because I have PTSD from the other story by this author and he's Isn't too far into this story yet.
That said I'm already captivated and ready for more. This book seems like it's going to be kind of dark.
It seems like it's a cultivation leveling mix. Already there's some intrigue which is something he's done in his other story (I hope he finishes it)
The abilities remind of path of ascension a little as far as how they are unlocked. Aside from that totally unique as far as I can say myself.
10/10 so far story wise. Would recommend! - JuggernautRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great story. I enjoy the fantasy sci-fi combination and really interesting plot. I don't have any issue with current events and one of the groups in similar circumstances. Plus thus far those parts of the story aren't even effecting the MC. My only small issue is with the magic system but that might be because the MC's magic is broken.... mostly.
- DynalonRoyal Road★★★ 3.0This is just initial review after reading first five chapters:
As the title says the plot feels forced. In the first few chapters author paints the picture of how awesome and important being soul warrior is, how important is compatibility level and how goverment, military and everyone values that talent and then in a single chapter MC gets kidnapped, crippled and we time skip 8 years and MC is living as an outcast.
If MC's talent is so awesome and important then what about the reaction of his suroundings, goverment, school and military. He is crippled in a single day and nobody bats an eye?
I know author does not post interludes on RR, but even without them I would at least expect few chapters explaning immediate future after kidnapping before skipping 8 years.
Another minor issue is similarity to Jade Phoenix:
- MC has unusual talent
- bad guys don't like it so they cripple him/her
The world is different but the start of the story is basically same as JP. I think little bit of originality would not hurt.
Worldbuilding could also use bit more work. The story happens in future and author focuses on soul warriors and their role of fighting alien monsters, but the important information about how people travel between stars and general information about technology is not explained.
One last problem which is really minor is use of real world nations as a template for world building. In the current geopolitical situation some people might find it disturbing for Russia to be the "bad guys".
Personally I don't care, but in combination with already quite dark heading of the story it might be too much for some readers.
Despite all of the above I think it is worth it keeping an eye on the story. If for no other reason then because author's other fictions show drastic improvement over time especially after they get edited and released as a book. - The_Mighty_GregRoyal Road★★★ 2.5I liked the initial setting and the grammar is good.
The sudden eight year time skip without any explanation was jarring and then "holy plot armour bluntman" not only does he survive the encounter but suddenly becomes a trusting person to get the cosmic power up.
It all feels to forced for me to continue reading. - grovekeeperRoyal Road★★ 2.0The heavily talented MC, once in a millenia talent, the one who has great potential (and is 10 years old) is crippled by his friend's family. Time skip. He is destitute, living in the poorest place in the poorest slum. It just doesn't make sense. Wouldn't somebody try to heal him seeing his talent? Wouldn't some of his relatives try it? Won't the Army man who was so interested in the MC try it?
It doesn't make sense at all. - RonGar1483Royal Road★ 1.0It was not to my taste. But you may like it. Give it a shot.
I didn't get far before seeing that this story was not for me and called it quits, so I don't know what I could tell you.
It has a lot of elements that should make a great story, and for other readers, it has done just that. But not for me.
So, I'll leave it up to you to make up your own mind. Good luck!
