Fifteen-year-old Abell Vespera is a kid with big ambitions stuck in a backwater farming town, living in the shadow of his legendary sister. All he wants to do is fight and grow stronger. When he gets an offer to leave his town to become a Luminary, he takes it.

But the higher he climbs, the more he realizes the world isn't what it seems.

I almost dropped this early on, but I’m glad I stuck with it.
The beginning is a bit slow; it feels like the author is actually trying to build the world and characters. Abell is solid as a main character, too he’s not overpowered but still contributes so far. its not perfect, but definitely worth continuing if you give it some time.
