- Harb88Royal Road★★★★ 4.0This is a great little story with a very interesting concept. The writing is a bit stilted but with almost no grammatical or spelling errors. I think the characters all develop a little bit too quickly, far faster than maybe makes sense, but the characters are still interesting and diverse. I think the romance could have been drawn out a bit longer and I think that Blainaut should have taken a bit longer to flip his beliefs and shown a bit more resistance to that, it's generally a lot harder to change an ingrained belief like that, even if the character was predisposed to change.
The main character also is far to quick to trust and the other characters also too quick to just go along with him. It's not bad but it just doesn't feel as believable as the characters changing over a longer period of time. Although it does mean the story moves along at a faster pace which gets to some of the more interesting bits quicker.
Thoroughly enjoy the concept of this story and am excited about where it's heading. Looking forward to discovering more about the world and how the magic system works as well. A very unique and interesting read.
