Thanks a lot for letting me read the start of your story, I love any and everything to do with H.P. Lovecraft, so a cosmic railway is totally my bread and butter. I have a few notes for your story that I think could help improve it, let me know if you have any questions. Keep up the great work!
I'd go back through your story and do some grammar clean-up.
There was a typo in the very first sentence, you wanna make
sure you have the best first impression possible. On that note,
starting a story with a monster attack is a great way to
    get my attention!
I liked your opening chapter a lot, didn't expect that woman
to get killed by the conductor, but that certainly lets us
know that the Eldritch Railway is really hardcore. The ticket
scene reminded me a lot of the polar express, albeit much
    less violent.
It struck me as being so random that Steve has a blackberry
phone. Is this a subtle way to show that this story takes place
a few years in the past?
You do a good job in chapter one of making me like Steve. He
hasn't done anything necessarily likeable, but I know that
there's a girl who he wants to be noticed by, and his home
    situation isn't exactly great.
What exactly is it that Steve wants out of life? What's the
dude's end goal? How is the Eldritch Railway either going
to help or hinder that goal?
I'd make Steve more desperate to get onto the Eldritch Express.
You point out that he escapes from the other guys and then
just gets on the train because he's curious. I'd have him
rush onboard because it's either that or get beaten to a
    bloody pulp.
