The kind of place tourists avoid like the plague, probably because they’re convinced they’ll actuallycontractthe plague, simply by walking through the front door. Cheap beer, watered down drinks and, for some inexplicable reason, the world’s most amazing chicken wings.

A dive bar.

The decades roll on, neighborhoods rise and fall, populations ebb and flow, but the dive bar abides. The dive bar also has a secret. Were someone to pay close enough attention, they might just notice that the dive bar only seems to attract a certain kind of person.

And every so often, that persondoesn’tcome back out.

Within the dive bar’s weathered walls, order and chaos are in residence, kept in a state of constant tension by the few who deign to enter.

So, several stories by different authors about different characters in a shared setting (more or less).

I, personally, really really enjoyed the first one by WhiskeyOnTheRocks. I ended up skimming all the others after trying to wade thru each of them. Your experience may be different, as everyone has diff prefs.
All of these are well done, it was just a matter of what kind of story and what writing style suits a particular reader. They're all polished and professionally written.
The concept is a fresh twist on some standard ideas. There's a fair amount of action, and the pacing is pretty quick generally.  All of the stories seem well edited and free of mistakes or other rough edges; these read more like final versions than a lot of stories on RR (some of which, frankly, are first or second drafts).
My apologies to the other writers; the stories were all well done, just not to my tastes. I'm sure some folks will have exactly the opposite reaction; that's fair, too. Thank you for sharing such interesting work.
I'm glad to see this kind of shared world making the rounds again; I have fond memories of Thieves World and other old shared projects.
