Description

Sucked into the void without warning, a handful of people from around the globe suddenly find themselves in the foreign world of Scyria, a place filled with people who can jump three times their height, conjure fire from thin air, and perform any number of other inhuman feats.  Scattered across the realm and armed with newfound powers far greater than those of the native Scyrians, they each struggle to find their path in this unfamiliar reality.  Their unforeseen arrival sends tremors throughout the world, toppling a centuries-long age of relative peace, prosperity, and progress as they each leave their mark on the world in their own ways. But Scyria has its own share of intrigue, even without these unwelcome guests.  A major metropolis is wiped from existence out of nowhere, triggering a manhunt across the continent for those deemed responsible.  Two feuding nations decide to bring their hostilities to a new level.  Blades clash, nations fall, and plots years in the making begin to reveal themselves. This is the story of some unwilling trespassers, taken from their lives against their will and thrown into situations they barely understand.  This is the story of some unfortunate Scyrians, their lives blown apart by the newcomers’ sudden and destabilizing existence.  This is the story of Scyria, a world with a lost past buried beneath millenia.  But as both the Earthlings and Scyrians are about to find out, sometimes the past doesn’t stay buried forever... Updates very slowly with large chapters, so sometimes will lapse into Hiatus status, but I am always slowly chipping away at a new chapter.  My life has gotten complicated, but I haven't stopped writing when I could.  Even if it's been several months of silence, a new chapter is coming. I marked the story as having Gore, Sexual Content, and Traumatising content because it does contain a bit of all three, though not what I believe is a significant amount.  Just wanted to be safe.  It does contain a whole lot of profanity, though.  That one is very much deserved. Before I get started with the actual review, I implore you to read this story. It's good. Really good.
Overview: Displaced is a Multi-POV story following transmigrators and natives trying to survive the winds of fate despite the countless complications that come up time and time again. While still an action fantasy with plenty of grand fights, explosions, and spells slung, at the end of the day this is a Character-driven story. This comes with character highs and lows, with each side intensified due to the growing attachment of characters and excellent writing of IRS.
Style: The author writes in a third-person POV yet it sometimes feels as if we're reading from first-person POV. It's a testament to their skill, yet fits the style of the story perfectly. It is both an intrapersonal story for our characters as much as it is an interpersonal.
Grammar: Perfect grammar, not much else needs to be said.
Story: At the time of writing this review (134 chapters) there are a total of three arcs. The first arc serves as an introduction to our characters and the world as a whole. With multiple characters spread out across the globe doing their own thing, some readers may find the whole thing jarring (more on this later). The author paints a pretty good picture of the world and building up to the 2nd arc. I can't say too much about the 2nd arc but it is A LOT. High stakes, lots of action, and tons emotional intensity. It is truly a culmination of what was presented in the first arc and is masterfully weaved together with no loose ends at the end. The third arc starts off really calm due to the rollercoaster of the 2nd, yet it seems the third arc will be grander and somehow more charged. The stakes are becoming even higher, and now that I'm fully caught up I'm biting at my nails with every subsequent update.
Character: As I said in the beginning, this is a MULTI-POV character driven story. None of the characters are perfect isekai protagonists, with their own quirks, ideologies, a

One of the things that I really dislike in a lot of stories in RR is that the division in chapters don't use to have a meaning. This said, a lot of authors like to make a cliffhanger out of every little plot advancement just to try to keep the reader interested. This is not one of those stories, the chapters actually feel like they have a reason to be there. Each one helps to develop the plot and the worldbuilding in a satisfactory way. If you read this story, you won't feel like you're dealing with a drug dealer trying to induce an addiction with homeopathic doses of a product, you will actually feel satisfied because it is well made and may want to come back with a natural curiosity, not something forced.
One point that some people should be warned about (despite the tag) is that Blake is not the only main character. This is not the story about only an angst character and their path to conquer the world. In some more "advanced" chapters there's even a main character that may be interpreted to be in an opposite side of Blake (if their ideals were to be seen as a spectrum).
Another point I would like to make is that every POV brings a new perspective to the world. Angst, pacifism, pragmatism, naivety, selflessness, selfishness - it all brings a new brush stroke to the painting that is the worldbuilding. Even the support cast helps to advance the plot in a way that affect the main characters in an interesting way.
Overall, it may have some flaws and may not be for everyone (as some other reviews point), but it is one the best in this website and deserves all the high ratings that it got.

Easily one of the best stories on this website, each chapter is long, detailed and well edited. The worldbuilding is phenomenal, and rewards the readers investment in the story. I especially like reading this story as the magic system is very similar to one that I have been dreaming up for a story that I am too lazy to write, so that is a major plus.
The reason I believe that many people drop this story is the reveal that the story actually follows multiple POV characters and misconceptions that the reader has about the MC. In fact, Brandon Sanderson, famous fantasy author actually discusses this issue regarding reader expectations in one of his lectures that you can watch on youtube.
This story is one that you need to stick with past the first 10 chapters to really get into, in other words it requires a lot of faith in the author and investment from the reader. If the magic system wasn't perfectly tailored to suit my tastes in magic systems, I might have dropped this around chapter 4.
Another issue that this story may have is that the first POV character that is introduced is also the most interesting protagonist for a lot of readers especially (character arc spoilers)
    Spoiler: Spoiler
His descent from self righteous know it all, to despotic robotic dictator of an entire theocratic and xenophobic country, and his uplifting of the soicetys technology and culture. Definetly a well made and sympathetic villain protagonist with believable flaws and actions.
This character being so good made me crave each and every POV chapter that he got, or POV chapters form the people around him. One early POV chapter from Samanta is fantastic, and easily my favourite chapter in the entire story so far.
Lots of well written battle scenes in this story for  those who like them.
Overall fantastic story that I highly recommend. The promise of more Blake chapters keeps pulling me through this story at a lightning place, thanks author!

This story seems to me like the beginnings of an author, it truly is among the best stories on this site and feels like with some upscalling could be a full-on univesre.
The amount of attention that went into making this a full fledged, living world with history of its own is amazing for a free story by a what I'm assuming is a first-time author. The first chapters are in my opinion the weakest as they lack the wider perspective that this story goes for, plus the first character we are introduced to isn't all that likeable (although out of all the other characters that could be used as a first point of contact he does make sense in the context of the story). Characterisation, along with the general writing style improve steadily.
As long as the world is concerned it is excellent and feels alive and active, no character feels 'special' as if they are the focus of the world, instead they feel like people living among people. All characters have motivations and goals and they actively pursue them without the story playing favorites. It really is a perfect example of how to pull off a story that not only has multiple characters but is also realistic in the sense that the universe doesn't revolve around one person. Instead the stage reacts to the actions of actors big and small and each one has their problems and lives that are entirely their own, with wich they struggle and sometimes lose.
In the end, what I'm trying to say is that this story has gone above and beyond of what can be expected of a free story and is setting a bar for other stories on this site. I fear though that it isn't getting the exposure it deserves for what feels like a real attempt by someone at becoming an author. Also the density of releases doesn't help, perhaps it would be possible to re-release the chapters at a quicker rate later down in order to draw more attention?
I wish the best to the author for his dedication and best of luck with this project.

Decided to try this story out on a whim, and was very pleasantly surprised. Grammar and spelling are great, story has been exciting and I like almost all of the characters. Only thing I could see people being upset about is that there is a lot of POV skipping around, so if you get super attached to one character it can be a little sad not seeing them for several chapters. Still, with the amount of chapters out right now it's not a big deal since you can just binge read until they show back up. 5/5 would read again

That's it!In my humble opinion, everything about this fiction is just impeccable!Since I actually have to fill 200 characters, let me elaborate: Every word feels deliberate and well thought through, which is sadly also represented in the time it takes for this fiction to progress. The grammar is flawless and I do not recount a single instance where I thought to myself that there is something funky with a sentence or a word. All of the characters are developed and have depth (and let me change the capitalization: I really mean ALL). They have reasons for their behaviour, they have flaws and they do not deviate from their personalities for plot convenience. The story is on the same level, where it is rich in content and itricacies, and everything feels connected and important (which is significant because as is seen in the tags it is a ”multiple-lead-characters” -story and thus jumps a lot between actions an places). All in all a 100% recommendation to read!

The story has a lot of different characters and the POV that go with them, and I get that some people may not like that so there's that.
But if the POV changes don't bother you ? this is actually very good, the characters are fleshed out, the story flows smooth, without info dumps but still enough background info, and the writing is perfectly fine.
As for the characters themselves well... they're human, and that means they're imperfect dumb pieces of shit, each and every single one of them (except Arlette ofc) but we love them for it !
Also the story, and the world in general, makes sense, it's not a mess without any order, and it's complex enough to be intruguing yet understandable.
All in All, a pretty good story, more than worth your time.

I come before you today, my fine colleagues and rapscallions, to recount and pontificate verbosely upon the virtues and humors of the literary work in progress named simply: Displaced. There are numbered a total of five categories in which our shared medium and host measures the quality and robustness of the tales held here: Overall, Style, Story, Grammar, and Character. Though you may see the choices of my stars above without context, if you seek explanation feel free to continue your reading journey. Overall, Displaced is a multifaceted fiction with multiple main characters and disparate plotlines that weave together with a unique system of magic to form an excellent narrative and world. This leads us to Style, which, as previously stated is not simple. Nor is it excessive in its complexity leaving the reader satisfied and desiring more content. From here we meander toward Story, which I will not spoil you with excessive detail in which to ruin your future reading should you choose to follow my recommendation, and simply say the structure is both classic and involves novel chemistry and detail. The Grammar of the text has been well edited, reasonably within the professional range of publication, which is quite enough said about that. The final category is Character, and as with Story, I will endeavor to not expand on details that would bias you unduly. The main characters are lovable, despicable, complicated, reasonable and unreasonable, as a great cast of characters should be. The side characters are no less complex and thusly form a great foundation for the story. To summarize: by all the measures I personally hold and the ones held in common stead here in our community, Displaced is an exemplar of its genre and one of the best stories to grace this site.

I have been following this story for a long time and it has always struck me as odd that this never became more popular. The mind boggles that a book so engaging and well thought out, never took off. I strongly urge everyone who wants a true experience of what fantasy and multiple leads is to read this. Now onto the actual review.Style score 5/5:IrateRapScallion draws you into his world like few can ever dream of achieving. Whether through elaborate plans of world domination or a fight for social equality the author makes you fall in love with the characters.Story score 4/5:With a rather long and slow set-up this might put some off. However in recent chapters as the initial introductory arc wrapped up, we begin to get a glimpse into the machinations of all the powers. IrateRapScallion seems to have a rather ambitious story in the works unfolding to reveal a world more deep and rich than what one could have hoped for.Grammer score 5/5:More perfect than a crystal at absolute zero.Character score 5/5:This is where IrateRapScallion truely shines. It has been a long a time since I've read a book which can have its characters so likeable yet flawed but without beingtooflawed. It's an art a paltry few can hope can hope to have and use. The perfect balance, which can't be easy considering the sheer number of different characters IrateRapScallion is juggling is something that must be savoured while one can.Overall score 5/5:A tiny disclaimer here: this story is not for everyone. But for those who are used to having a huge and diverse set of protagonists, one should not pass up this chance to read what I consider to be one of the best works that can be found on this site.
