Description

Edit: I will no longer be updating this story.

Verlasen was at peace. The races were no longer at war and monsters of legends laid in slumber. Yet peace was fickle. It was longlasting for the world as a whole, but ephemeral for the individuals within said world. Our story looks into those whose misfortune has piled together to send a ripple through the Verlasen. A dog catching a break. A spirit ever fleeting. A street rat within a church. A flower in glass. A lizard lost. And a bug flying towards the flame.

It's not terrible and it has a pretty cool oppening but it drags at the middle point of what the author has written rn.
Grammar is fine and there's pretty sentences every few pages. I really like the villains so far but I'm waiting to see how the mc finally starts to progress in the world.

ATTENTION: this is one of my first reviews ever, so if it's horrendous, please notify me, so I can chastise myself severely for it, thanks.
First of all my dear reader, this story doesn't go sexually deep into its characters, but psychologically instead, which I think is a great thing.
Because while big boobs are good and all, in my opinion, 3 dimensional, well-developed characters are even better!
It's true that the story can be pretty slow paced, specially at the beginning, but I don't think that's necessarily bad, the author takes his time to go over aspects of the character's mental state and to build realistic people, which is always welcomed.
The world the story is taking place seems very interesting to me, with a reasonably unique system and magic, nothing revolutionary, but that's not a detriment at all in my opinion.
The author also makes sure to punish any idiotic behavior the MC may have, and the MC not only seems to realize his behavior was stupid but tries not to repeat it again, which at least until now he hasn't.
A stupid thing the MC did was, for example, treating the whole experience like a game instead of taking it seriously, like off handily deciding to be reborn like a child and being very exposed to danger because of it, which did cause quite a bit of trouble for him if I'd say so myself.
The grammar is good, I did see a few misspellings, but if you are not a grammar Nazi you shouldn't have a heart attack reading this.
So, because I didn't see anything that really rubbed me the wrong way in this story, I'm giving it a 5 stars rating, this is of course all but my opinion, so if you disagree please dislike it, or just fuck off, I don't really care.

While this is a story that  I wouldn't typically read, for its target audience it does a wonderful job based on the execution of the story and the stories structure. While I have only read to chapter 14, I do beleive that the characters within the novel will be fleshed out thoroughly.
Style score- It is a well-written first person story that doesn't fall into the trap of only focusing on the main character, leaving side characters shallow husks that rarely interact with the main character. The short back and forth between chartacters leads to snappy dialogue that keeps the reader engaged. The litrpg elements are defintely present, but are used sparingly enough where the stats don't oversahdow the story.
Story Score - At this point I can't objectively say how concise and well thought the story is, since after 14 chapters I still haven't gotten into the meat and potatoes of the story. The slow paced nature of the story is hardly a poor thing. Many of my favorite webnovels are slower. I think that time will tell whether the story is soemthing satisfying. For now I give it 5 stars. I see no problems so far.
Grammar score- The story is well-written from what I've seen. I didn't find any grammatical mistakes, and the prose is easy to read and approachable. It enables the reader to focus on the story which I appreciate.
Character Score - The main character has an intersting back story. Again only time well tell whether or not the main character is someone I'll want to root for based on the characters actions. So far, the main character is somone I want to root for.

Knight Merchant is much more than what the synopsis lets on, and I love it!
What is set up to seem like a normal reincarnation litrpg story quickly dives into deep and gnarly aspects of the new world. From the beginning of the story through to the latest chapter, the author clearly shows their expertise and intimacy with the story by setting up great plot points and executing the various events.
And the action, the beautiful action. I love every last bit of it. It encompasses the spirit of contemporary action sequences and blends them beautifully with the LitRPG and Power Fantasy style that we have become used to. It is very fun to follow and is also very engaging, coming from a person who isn't into fight scenes.
    Style:
The writing is beautiful, it is flowery and concise where it needs to be. The author clearly understands what suits the section of the story and writes it with great care to make for smooth and easy reading. The only reason I deduct some points here is because of the long dream sequence that took place, I do not think that is an issue with the story because even the dream sequence was interesting for me. But I do think it could be placed and developed differently for more readers to connect with it.
    Story:
Unobjectionally great. The set-ups and intrigue the author creates and the way it is progressed are all very natural and engaging. The story picks up pace after the thirteenth chapter and keeps being action-packed with great amounts of character development. A full score there.
    Grammar:
Nothing wrong at all. I am not a native speaker, so my words are not the best here, but I am sure that the story has been edited well and is clean of any errors when it comes to grammar. It maintains a neat and consistent rhythm to the prose throughout the story.
    Character:
Definitely one of the strongest points of the story. The main character and the entirety of the side cast are very compelling and engaging. They all feel to have more substance to them than what

    Book gud.
kinda upset about the class MC chose, but I'm sure it'll work out well.
characters are a very good. Much edgy.
    world seems cool
Stays true the the litrpg cliches for the most pet but still feels fresh and not like it's been written by 50 other authors.
    Gud book.

So far what you got is very cool. I love the style of the writing overall, it's like I ger classical art in my head when I read your descriptions. I like the plot of the story so far, It's something new especially with chapters 2 and 3. While It's too early to judge your protagonist, she seems like a blank slate almost. Like she's made for the reader to insert themselves into the story. Overall, beautiful start. I can't wait to read more!

Preface: This is apart of a reivew swap.
    ---
Grammar: There were grammatical errors in the fic but nothing so dramatic that detracts from the overall quality.
Style: The author has proven themselves to be a capable writer with some of the prose dipping into the literary; however, at times, it becomes confusing to read especially when there's combat. Clarity is oftentimes sacrificed, which isn't the best thing as clarity is the number one item you need when writing your own piece. The author has the ability to do it, but the execution is questionable. However, aside from that, it's good writing.
Story: The story itself is good; it's the pacing that I'm concerned with. In Chapter 3, you have character creation which goes on a bit too long for my taste, but the biggest subject of thought is the dream sequence that the MC goes through. It's long, simply put. The rest of the story is fine, in my opinion, but the beginning is where you hook readers in. It's an investment to say the least.
Character: The characters are of average quality, I'd say. There's nothing incredibly outstanding but they're solid people that can drive the story forward; how they will develop is up for the author.

A light hearted isekai which turns beautifully dark
It aims down the middle of these two and hits the mark
Some light litrpg elements are well thought out
But human relations is more what this is about
I’d say that from chapter thirteen, this book hits its stride
Some perspective changes help the world to open wide
Magic combat shows up and is quite a bit of fun
And it’s clear by then that the plot’s only just begun
First of all, the writing style is really impressive
Sometimes it’s a bit dense, but that’s easy to forgive
Actions speak much louder than words in this neat new book
Some dream-like scenes are long but seem worth the time they took
A slightly silly, slightly edgy, isekai setting
Then some rpg style character status rolling
After that, things take a darker turn, a bit tragic
But it’s nothing brutal or gratuitously sick
This is where the novel shines, it’s quite well written stuff
The prose is purple, to be sure, but it’s concise enough
The writing takes an average trope and makes it fun to read
Mostly from the perspective of a compelling lead
The characters are mostly good, but as for the MC
He is far from perfect, but that is alright with me
He’s a little edgy and he might make some mistakes
But failing a few times is what growing up always takes
So far, the supporting cast is actually great
Much more well written than someone might anticipate
Voices are compelling and they’re pretty interesting
And it’s still early, but they seem to be developing
Overall, this is a beautiful though clunky book
For its prose, I’ll let that long dream sequence off the hook
I’m excited to come back and binge this once again
This has a bright future, so I’ll stick around til then!

Style: The style present here was great and the writing felt snappy and detailed enough to give a vivid idea of what was going on.
Grammar: No faults that i could find incredibly solid from this perspective
Story: Here is where I personally felt a bit put off by the story. Firstly let me start with the positives as I felt the premise was intriguing and personally I'm a sucker for a good litrpg. Indeed the author does a good job of giving enough status readouts to allow us the reader to see the system being active without making the prose overly clunky which i think is one of the most difficult things about writing lit RPG. Now here are some of the things that nag at me a bit all of which i understand are more personal gripes than technical faults with the story. Firstly apparently the MC was a 'gamer' in his past life that liked 'min maxing' this feels like something that is said about him wouth being shown as he picks options and stat choices in almost the exact opposite ways someone who knows what trying to minmax is would. Another thing is that the story takes a lot of time to get off the ground while also going through other events of the at a break neck pace. Again to reiterate these are things that deteracted from my personal enjoyment and your mileage may very.
Character: Here is where the author really shines as even though some characters get small introductions you very quickly get a feeling for who they are as characters and their personalities, convictions, emotions etc. Specifically the dream section, although a bit too long and drawn out for my taste, with the MC really gives us a deep dive into his past, the values he holds and what drives him as a person. This was honestly the most engaging part of the story for me so if your into more character driven stories then this is a major plus!
Overall: Overall i'd say if your looking for a different slightly darker and introspective take on the litrpg genre give this a shot.

This is a well thought out story, and it starts off rather well, though based on the titles, I assume the character POV switches. As much as I personally enjoy character POV switching, I don't think any of the characters thus far are established enough to make it anything other than confusing.
The story itself is pace alright, and the plot is interesting enough. Give it a shot
