Description

They say humans live on Earth. Soul Reapers live in Bleach. Dragon Slayers live in Fairy Tail. Pirates live in One Piece. Ninjas live in Naruto.

But you're wrong.

This is our story, and you better believe it, because it's something. Or don't, it's your choice.

I won't mind but maybe my friend will, she bites. But that's okay, because it's your life and you can do whatever you want with it.

In order to build up the world the author, Wyman, provides small pieces of the world through history given to the main character Jan  by other characters and books. Jan does make a lot of mistakes, but he always tries to go pass his limits while protecting those he calls friends. It is honestly a good read that you should try out, so stop reading this and read the book.

Style: What I like most about the style is the pacing. This isn’t a story where things happen randomly at a breakneck pace, but it also doesn’t waste half a page describing the scenery. It strikes a great balance. I can clearly imagine the scenes, especially the fights, without being bogged down by excessive detail. It has that "good old slow" feel in the best way. We’re still exploring what seems like just 1% of the world, but it doesn't feel like the author is holding back. The exposition is well-placed and feels natural, often revealed through the main character’s deductions. It’s crazy how much happens in just a few days of in-universe time, yet it never feels too stuffed.
Story: So far, the story is very balanced. There's a good mix of drama, humor, and action. The tone shifts are smooth, and the overall premise is well-established. From the moment we entered the world, the main character had a clear goal; one that kept evolving and becoming more relatable. It’s hard to say more without spoilers, but… chapter 7 is where the story really got me.
Characters: The characters are hands-down the best part of the story. Everyone, from the nameless hall instructor to the main character himself, has a distinct voice. The MC isn’t a Mary Sue. He makes mistakes, but he learns from them, and his intentions are always understandable. Still, somehow, he isn’t even the main highlight? Most side characters could easily be fan favorites in another series. And it’s not just the heroes—the villains are just as compelling.
Grammar: Clear, functional, and correct (at least to my untrained eye). As I mentioned in the style section, the writing creates vivid scenes that almost feel like manga panels. So no complaints here.
Overall: I've really enjoyed this novel, and highly recommend it. I will, however, update this review if my opinions change for better or worse.

These first two chapters pull you in fast. Jan is instantly relatable his love for books, his sarcasm, and his sheer disbelief make him feel real. Chapter 1 sets him up as a quirky, stubborn character, while Chapter 2 throws him into chaos with death, respawns, and a mysterious game world. The pacing is exciting, the descriptions vivid, and the humor balances the tension nicely

Overall: This novel utilizes the good and classic story climbing genre but still adds plenty of original twists. The natives also hold a unique perspective of the heroes, a friendly acknowledgment rather than hatred or exaltation.
Style: The depth of detail is sufficient, and the vibe is more realistic than other works of a similar genre. The status window is less invasive in the text than other rpg novels, and so far there seems to be a lack of the usual constellation system.
Story: There is only five chapters so far, so I don’t have much context to go off of, but the story actually references the digital overindulge in our current society, and the tower world is fairly interconnected with the tower and heroes than in other works.
Character: The character is unique in that he doesn’t instantly adapt to the fantasy world like other main characters, is more of a book worm, and relies more on logic than battle sense, and still has the makings to become a somewhat overpowered character in the future.
Grammar: The sentences are fairly well structured, and there is a decent level of diction and grammar, and there is mild usage of profanity to add to the realistic aspect of the story.

The premise: The idea of someone having never ever played a game so far as to be completely ignorant of all game conventions and lingo is far fetched but amusing. It characterises Jan well immediately and allows for the start of the novel to stand out a bit.
The world: Not a lot to go on here so far, but the idea of separating countries based on the world dungeon floors is good. I hope to see implications of this in the future story, such as sending scouting parties through the dungeon to get in contact with other countries, maybe setting up trade but showing how perilous this can be. The author is taking a slow and steady approach to worldbuilding, not blasting us with tonnes of unimportant exposition which I appreciate.
The characters: Jan's big character trait is his love of books and curiosity, as mentioned before the total aversion to all things related to games is a bit far fetched, so I hope maybe we can get some more backstory on why this is the case, perhaps his mother was killed in SAO or something (I'm kidding 😂) The side characters so far aregood, I'm a big fan of Rollo in particular ,the cheerful yet rough guard captain who hides a deep sadness beneath his jovial exterior, though at time of writing (27 chapters in) I think some of the others suffer from feeling a little too one note. I hope that in the future the author expands on these characters and gives them some more depth.
The writing itself: I think where this author really shines is in the action scenes. They're tightly written, fast paced and exciting with just the right amount of description to make them very vivid in my mind. They're truly a joy to read. The description of the world itself follows in second place, flowing nicely and not being too light or too heavy.
I think however, the biggest pitfall of this novel is in the dialogue and internal narration. Particularly Jan himself has many lines I would just cut entirely, of him talking or thinking to himself about things that are already e

I might change this later on.
currently I am on chapter 13 and it has been a struggle to get here because the character it’s kind of stupid and dense. Someone who is described as a bookworm has never read an litRPG, rpg, or fantasy book before. He quite literally kept making really stupid decisions after literally dying very painfully multiple times. And despite the fact that numbers keep popping up in his face, he has not once asked a question of hey yeah, what’s these number popping up in my face.
The story is interesting enough that I’ll keep reading, but this is just a major flaw.

I actually enjoyed this story but my main peeve is how DUMB the mc is. He’s portrayed as a bookworm but he’s so oblivious to everything pertaining to the system his new world etc. im like 30 chapters in and he still doesn’t remember that he can check his stats and allocate the. He’s like level 50 and still doesn’t have a class🤣( idk whether it’s part of a future plot or something). All in all pretty good book, stupid mc

The MC is an idiot. Even worse, he's WILLFULLY an idiot. He is so obtuse it is painful to watch. I made it about 6 or 7 chapters in, and I just...can't.
To be fair, the writing style is fine, there are few (if any) spelling errors, and the grammar is fine. Unfortunately, good writing does not make up for a bad main character.
