- RznRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5There is not a lot of plot in the opening, just an introduction and a meeting. The one thing I am going to focus on is the prose and its tone. It has this dated, storyteller style that cuts into some humor at the expense of alternating tone. The comma splices and some of the constructions in the narration are just awkward, and I am not sure if that is part of trying to mimic a cozy atmosphere. A good beginning, just I am not sure it captures the right feeling the author intends.
