Once feared as the Dark Lord, I now seek a fresh start as a humble farmer.
Isekaied into a level 86 Necromancer-King's body, I leave his life of war behind in favor of peace in the idyllic Borderlands. Upon meeting the captivating elven maiden Narya Summerdew and a razor-toothed half-elven child, the three of us form an unlikely improvised family.
As we embrace the eccentric community of Gelderham, we find happiness in simplicity…But my past casts shadows on our growing bonds. How will Narya react when she learns her new husband was once the evil king set on destroying her people?
In this heartwarming tale of farms, villages, side quests, and level progression, unexpected allies learn the importance of love and family as secrets are unveiled and hearts are healed.

I quite enjoy the story. It has a nice simple premise of someone trying to live a simple life. While it has a system, it's not in your face with the MC trying to gain power. Opposite really. MC is powerful, and just wants a simple life.
story is well written without grammar flaws that jump out. Characters are interesting. I won't get into much detail, since spoilers.
please carry on. Lots to see here and enjoy. - MrBoxRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Awesome start for Gray's journey. The banter between cahracters is great. The flirting and little good gestures feel real and sweet. Even if the MC was totally out of his comfort zone he really came up with decent plan to really start his journey withouht raising too much suspicioun which honestly was really nice to see.
Narya also so far even if a bit "posh" is very likeable and sweet. I can definitely see her growing on me even more as the story progresses. And then there is this lovable little half elf with razor sharp teeth and never ending love for raw fish. Meeko is fast becoming one of my favourite characters in all of literature and I can't wait to see what kind of mischief and adventures she ends up doing during this whole adventure.
Overall feeling so far has been funny, wholesome and sweet which I love a lot!
Also the world that the author has build seem really interesting and the "god" which you can interact with is really interesting addition. Overall the start seems great and if you are into this sort of slow building slice of life genre I feel like you end up liking this story a lot. 10/10 - AMightyPenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Top class fluff - sometimes heartwarming, sometimes heartwrenching, a perfect balance between the two. Can't wait for the story to continue!
Excellent writing, close to zero grammatical errors, great pacing, solid flow - A really solid start :) Don't usually start new novels with so little content, but definitely recommend to anyone who likes SoL! - BeewineRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A sweet little slice of life romance. Gray is the soul of a paramedic suddenly now occupying the body of the Witch King. A necromancer-king who was busy exterminating the sun elves with the aid of his empire. Gray has fled and encountered a beauty on the run as well, a sun elf who circumstances and the omnipresent system have seemingly have thrown them together. With a rescued young girl of unusual provence (and dietary tendencies) they are trying to hide from the empire in a unusual village. Daily life, Family, Parenthood, Litrpg and Romance are the themes. Excellent writing making a enjoyable and refreshing read.
- BlackguardRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0point blank, I'm not going to tell you anything about the story, no spoilers, no facts, no summery.
I will tell you that this is wonderful, so much care has gone into this story. The author really does paint a picture with their words. The character interactions are sometimes obviously forced in a hilarious way, when other times the exact same thing will happen in a story, cliche and unmentioned. There's a new pin on many things while still evoking stories such as "Beware of Chicken" and "Spy X Family" if you enjoyed either of those series, this is for you - EnvioussRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story woven by the author is eloquent and fulfilling. I have laughed and cried while binge reading through this wholesome tale of a family healing through their respective traumas, build a life and skills that will help them grow into the people the wish to be. Very wholesome, reviewed at chapter 21.
- Carson6319Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's beautiful and sweet with promises of future drama.
The author is clearly passionate and puts effort into engaging with readers.
My only critique is that the relationship development between leads feels fast. It could just be the lead female is desperately isolated and wants to lock in a reliable relationship. Meanwhile the MC is being dragged along because he's crushing hard whilst legitimately enjoying her company.
Highly recommend. - LittlehuffRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is an excellent slice of life story. The premise of an evil orverlord's mind being replaced by an isekai character who runs away and falls in love with one of the people most directly influenced by his predecessor's evils is interesting and provides enough angst to draw out the romance aspect naturally.
The author does a great job of keeping the story engaging within the slow pace dictated by the slice of life style. I didn't spot any grammar problems and the characters are both interesting and varied.
My only minor quibble is the love interest's jealous nature, but that is my personal preference.
Highly recommended for a relaxing read. - MaidsWillBeMineRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Despite this not being a 5-star novel by any means i'm giving it 5 stars regardless. Not because the novel mertits it, though is somwehat fun and i would suggest it to people that enjoy a chill slice of life. I'm 5-staring it because of the future novels that the author might produce if he keeps at it for long enough. I can smell a future 5star novel burbling somewhere down there.
As for this novel, I can spot influences from diferent web novels indicating that the author was a long time reader before he started writing, like most people. And also very recognizable influence of the Stardew Valley game mechanics and elements. Not a bad thing at all, i'm just saying it's there. It's made to be wholesome, stakes are kept relatively low as they should in a chill novel and there's solid inroads towards character and plot develoment to be seen. Keep at it mister author, I'm following the novel and hoping to see you do well. - Nomad1791Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Boring bits of my review first. Characters: they feel fleshed out and each has their own defining personality. No one feels like they are puppets to boost the mc everyone feels needed or like they have their own place in the world. The world building is solid and easy to follow, dark lord wanted revenge yatta yatta genocide, yatta yattaa semi post apocalyptic world or maybe world pushed to the brink of what would have been an apocalypse. Ether way good stuff. Writing is fantastic with few if any errors. Now personally I tend to avoid any books with romance because I feel they are done kinda wonky especially if they have the dreaded harem but this one is done right and zero harems so yeah romance I'm giving a 10/10 which again feels very weird to even find one I enjoy. I'll be following along and looking forward to seeing where it goes.
