Slice of life’s are some of my favorites. This one is just easy going as far they come, so far minimal obstructions for the MC. That is fine sometimes and that is what this story seems to be at this point. Add in some person saying common wise sayings from another reality and confusing his peers, even better.Cannot wait to learn more about Chai and the invention in this world.I always enjoy the trope of “modern nice person in a cultivation world.” Just fun.

I go through cycles on Royal Road where I just feel like I have read everything. I don't want to read my popcorn, all the good ones have already been found and followed and updates seem to take forever in a fast paced digital world.
Into that monotony and drudgery stepped "Cultivating Chia". A relatively fresh move in the Cultivation genre. It asks not how can I challenge the heavens but how can I bring a little heaven to Earth.
The style of the story is relaxed and might verge into boring for some but I think the author does an excellent job of adding action and drama to keep the slice of life moving along.
Story is cute. Period. Full stop. It's full of blushing, misunderstandings, posturing, laughing and in general feel good vibes.
The grammar is in progress, there are missing or misspelled words but the author is good about improving as they go and it's not frequent enough to mean anything more than nobody is perfect.
Characters for the most part are two-d charictures. They have roles and they play them well enough that everything blends into an acceptable ensemble. I see what I believe are moves on the authors part to increase that complex character depth that make characters compelling. I would rate this as the primary area for growth for the author but am not too concerned as they seem to have things well in hand.

"Cultivating Chai" is a delightful read that weaves together rich storytelling and vibrant characters. The author skillfully explores themes of community, tradition, and self-discovery through the lens of chai culture. The warm, immersive narrative invites readers to savor each moment as they journey alongside the protagonist. With beautifully crafted prose and heartfelt insights, this novel resonates long after the last page. It's a must-read for anyone seeking a cozy escape into a world of connection and flavor.

Another reviewer has already cited Beware of Chicken as a similar example of non-standard Xianxia. It's still early, but I think Demon World Boba Shop might be a Xanxia story that is even closer. Cozier, more urban, and, of course, involving a variant of tea.It is still early going, and the updates, while frequent, are quite short. It may or may not suffer from blandness - a slice of life story, to be successful, needs strong characterization, and I don't think the characters are quite there yet, not even the MC. But still, this is a story whose updates I look forward to, and certainly deserves its 5 stars.

To be honest, I didn't expect much form a story about a tea making cultivator. But man how wrong I was. So far it's has been really great. And the part I love the most is the characters they all feel like real people with still feeling like proud cultivators. Not much to say, other then its a good concept with great execution so far, we'll see how far It goes.
I highly recommend, I think you're in for a surprise.

Nice to find the occasional cultivator story that isn’t all about killing other people and screwing over every other person in the story to one extent or another just a decent slice of life type story focused around the main character’s goals and some self improvement looking forward to seeing where the story goes

This is a very wholesome and relaxing story, just like a cup of chai. The characters are likeable and consistent with their ways. The story progresses slowly, without much action but It still manages to be very entertaining. My only complaint so far is that the chapters fly too fast and I am always left feeling that I need more.

I like the way this story goes, cultivation, but no cultivation. Curious as to how this will end... I really love the interaction between lian hua wu and our protagonist. Some minor english mistakes, but not so many it disturbs the flow of the story.Which is excellent by the way..

Really like the tone and pacing of the story so far. It makes sense and is easy to read. So far the character development has been done well.I'm looking forward to how the story will unfold.Only bad thing so far is having to wait for more chapters to come out.
