Description

When Han Wei, a modern-day office worker and gardening enthusiast, awakens in the body of Elder Han - a crippled dharmic cultivator of the Silvermist Ravine Sect - he finds himself thrust into a world of treacherous politics, ancient secrets, and deadly betrayals. With his cultivation shattered, his memories fragmented, and only a month to prepare for new disciples, Han Wei must navigate a perilous path to restore his strength and uncover the truth behind his downfall.

But the world of cultivation is a viper’s nest. Sect elders scheme in the shadows, a demonic sect plots the downfall of the entire sect, and Han Wei’s own disciples are as much a challenge as they are an opportunity. Armed with his modern knowledge and unorthodox methods, Han Wei must rebuild his foundation, train his misfit disciples, and outwit his enemies before his secrets are exposed.

It's not the first book on RR where a cultivator must pretend to be stronger that he currently is, but where this story shines, it's in execution. The creeping danger and simmering tension of discovery forced me to read all the published chapters in one go.
The protagonist is likeable, the support cast varied and life-like. The worldbuilding, while not particularly original, is immersive. The frequent snippets of philosophy are my particular favourite--too few cultivation novels focus on finding the Dao.
The prose flows very well. Some sections seem smoothed by AI, but others, e.g. the dialogue at the end on the first chapter, show the author's talent. Unless you've allergic to AI, you should enjoy it.

The MC has to actually use his brain to solve problems and fix his cultivation. Also, his disciples while talented are not absurdly gifted monsters or "ones chosen by fate" that would have succeeded no matter what. The MC actually having to put effort into raising them and helping them succeed is one of the best parts.
As a bonus it's also quite well written. Sorry if this sounds like a rant. I've been disappointed so many times that I almost didn't read this despite the synopsis being intriguing.
