Description

The main protagonist is unable to die. They can be captured and sealed away, but they cannot die. Do not read if you want the protagonist to be able to die. Death is an inevitability for all except Aria. Something she knows all too well. In a world locked in war, with the majority of its continents already wiped out before the signing of the Great Treaty banning strategic level weaponry and magic, Aria Crimson finds herself lost. Treated as a weapon by the military since she was young, she has almost forgotten what it was like to not be at war. But when a strange looking screen similar to those of the newly created devices known as computers appears in front of every last person on the planet, things change. Every human on the planet is given a class and a way to level their class. Given a new way to power outside of just their natural-born abilities. But along with the power comes the invaders. Humans from another world declaring war on their world, trying to take it for their own. Now, after ten years of fighting, Aria finally has a way out of the war. One that involves even more fighting. How will the world react to the changes, to the invaders, and to the power granted to them? And how will the only True Immortal in the universe, one dubbed by the System as Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse despite the irony, choose to proceed? Join Aria as she figures that out for herself. What to expect: ~A relatively laid back true immortal protagonist who cannot die. ~ Written mostly in first person Point of View. ~ The first world in the series with a level of technology equivalent to the 1950s. ~ A world where people have a chance to be born with an ability. ~ The world suddenly being initiated into a System upon the invasion of another world's people. ~ No romance. ~ Guns used as weapons in this story instead of just being dropped like many LitRPGs do. ~ A protagonist who travels across a lot of worlds in their immortal life, slowly growing stronger throughout it with lots of time skips. ~ Book 1 is largely introductory into the universe and characters with book 2 truly getting into what the story will be like. Chapters are generally between 1.4-2.3k words. The first chapters will be even longer. And there are currently about two chapters a week.

I really enjoy this book. The story line is unique and interesting to read. I also like how the author had a lot of internal dialog for the main character because some books when people aren't talking just describe the surroundings but this book does a good job of also having thought for the characters.

World building potential is there and I like the personality of her as well as your writing in general. It's like playing a movie in my head.

Before reading what was published so far I saw another review comparing this story to Youjo Senki and I have to agree in terms of setting. The mix of magic and guns and industrial revolution technology really reminds me of it. Which is great because I love Youjo Senki’s setting and there should be more of it on this website.  The pacing is consistent though a bit slow in my opinion. Its going for more slow progress and character development rather than just pure progression. Which is fine as a story choice it just means in 30 chapters she is still at level 4. Good stuff, definitely would recommend.

Perfect story for fans of litRPG books, amazing FLs and unique MCs
This author has never let me down before so I had high expectations, but I was still pleasantly surprised by this one
Arias immortality gives this story a twist on the usual stakes and challenges she has to overcome
I absolutely love it and can only recommend it
I can't wait for the next one

This is an interesting take and well worth the read. He main character is interesting and I can see the direction it is going overall. Though the MC can't die it isn't like she is OP from the start. She has to grow and get stronger.  The story is well paced and not boring.I usually don't bother with 50 word required reviews, just clicking the stars. This deserved the effort. Yes, I'm lazy lol.

Love the idea of the mc being immortal and going through life was expecting more time skips but I guess will get them later, The characters powers are nice and the powers of other characters are interesting too. Need more chapters can't wait for more. Mcs back story kept me hooked in the earlier chapters as well - looking forward to seeing her endless years exploring lots of planets getting into trouble as she does.

I really like characters with immortality and the world building is very interesting. Competing galactic powers each pursuing their own mysterious goals is always nice to have. I will say that I do live in fear that the author will burn out from how often he posts but until then I’m along for the ride.

I've read most of WolfShine's recent work and am up to date with most, maybe a few chapters behind in some to get have a more satisfying wait for more.
I say this because he has a certain style that I think stands out. He's mostly more focused on the MC in his stories, with some POV for context usually.
His world building is always something familiar with an interesting twist. In this case, the familiar is system initializing in the world. Tried and true story device. He then introduces us to the idea of other worlds essentially "farming" newly initialized worlds including loopholes in the system. Sending well trained level 1 warriors to the new world. They know how the system works, can leverage details that the newbies don't know and topple them with ease in a standard approach.
Aria might be one of my favorite MC's. I quite like characters who put themselves first. Aria isn't quite selfish. She comes off as such, but really she's broken inherently. She is selfish because she needs to be. She is closed off because she can't survive otherwise.
He's mentioned time skips, which I love. So often we have an immortal character with a story that takes a few months to years. Why be immortal then? Reminds me of a book on here called Unliving in that regard. The story there takes place over centuries.
After the first time skip, I'm glad to see she spent almost 3 years just... chilling. Sure, she levelled up some, probably kept up her combat training to an extent but largely she just relaxed. I actually love that
I do hope we get some more characters becoming at least temporarily integral depending on life span. I don't expect much, or any romance from Wolf, so probably no romantic partner in the cards. Hopefully she can find some people she values and loves in some way. Family, friends, lovers.. the term is irrelevant I just hope we don't have to watch her be alone for centuries on end.

Bias warning - I'm a patreon follower of WolfShineI love Wolf of the Blood Moon, and this is another story that seems to be similar. However, the author has continuously improved, and this shows it. Being on the patreon, I've read all of book one, and it's a great start to the series. The main character is satisfyingly powerful. If you want them to be under mortal threat often, this won't be for you, though. I can't wait to read more of the series.

This review is based on the story up to the current Patreon chapters, early in the second book of the series.
If you've previously read and liked some of the authors other stories you'll love this one. The similarities are apparent rather quickly: Strong female MC, bit of a loner with trouble showing emotion and a lot of fighting. Except this time, it's somehow even better.
While the idea of a main character that is immortal might seem like it might lead to lower stakes, that's not the case - after all, reading a story on RR we all know the MC will survive, wouldn't be much of a story otherwise. The stakes always come from the people and goals the mc is fighting for.
The world building alone is great, with many different factions, all of which I can't wait to learn more about. As a whole the story feels much better structured than most LitRPG stories, with the first book having a great arc from beginning to end.
The LitRPG elements and the system are used well, with abilities and skills so far all being meaningful, instead of the character just ending up with dozens of worthless skills, half of which you'll forget about unless they are were to be specifically mentioned. There also isn't any indication of the system being broken or surpassed, something I've always disliked in stories.
The style is excellent, a noteable improvement from the previous book and a significant improvement over the authors early books.
The grammar is fine - I don't recall ever noticing any issues.
The best part, however, is the story. Seeing as the story on RR is only at chapter 11 I unfortunately can't say much, other than it only keeps getting better.
I'd recommend everyone give the story a shot, at least until chapter 5 or so. You won't regret it.
