- DexrexRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Quite an enjoyable read, MC's goldenfinger brings all the whowouldwin fights to mind, leaving a huge potential of interesting abilities to explore in future. As of now its a quite simple, light hearted comedy, though sometimes a little too silly. Fun for a quick read as of now, though hope for more varied powerset in the future, wont mind a little more seriousness either.
- TyZomboRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Overall: A unique concept and an excellent execution. The two words best suited to describe this series is promising and enjoyable.
Style: A very nice style. Everything flows smoothly which makes it a joy to read and easy to keep scrolling through the pages. The author is skilled at painting a vivid picture. It takes no effort at all for the images of the story to form in your mind.
Story: Our protagonist dies and finds himself in a cultivation world with powers that allow him to take on the powers of whatever character he cosplays as. He’s thrust in the story right away with a significant decision to make, and he makes the logical one. I like how this world doesn’t bend over itself to reward him for foolish bravery. Tang Ze is a good person, but he isn’t naïve. He’ll do the right thing, but he’ll make sure he’s prepared to succeed at doing the right thing first.
Character: Tang Ze is living the dream. Transported to a fantasy world with a cheat that allows him to gain power through his hobby. He’s very easy to root for. Likable, charismatic, proactive, sympathetic. Plus, he’s cut from the cloth as classic heroes. Someone who just wants to do good. The other characters are written like actual people too, which makes the world feel more alive.
Grammar: Grammar is perfect as far as I can tell. - ZeldorkRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Seems like a promising start. Will update this as the story goes on further- but the premise is pretty unique AFAIK. The MC has a very powerful talent/golden finger, but it also has its own drawbacks it seems so he doesn't one-shot everything automatically. it's an overpowered ability, but also interesting to work around.
- NoChoicesRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Cosplay Cultivator is a comedic take on xianxia setting where our MC Tang Ze has suddenly found himself in a brand new section of the multiverse. Isekai'd with the skills to bring his creative cosplays to life, he has already found himself mired in sect politics, wading into a skirmish between two neighboring sects as one of my favorite superheros!
Will the consequences that follow be able to match his cosplay prowess? Or will his lowcost cosplay impersonation fall apart at the slightest challenge? Find out more in the next chapter! 5/5 for a fun read
Style: Can't complain too much - the story is easy to read and the sentences are well structured. I think that the paragraphs are sometimes too short but that is a personal qurik. 4.5/5
Story: Amazing hook, good execution! What more can one ask for? I can't say for sure how the plot will develop, but Tang Ze's character and the plot direction hint towards good things. MC isn't a one dimensional, bloodthirsty caricature, and neither are the other side characters. Conflict between the two sects is well reasoned and not pointless!
Grammar: No complaints, nothing that would make you stumble or break immersion.
Character score: Tang Ze is funny as fuck, and I look forward to seeing his shenanigans. He thinks about the consequences of his actions, although he is still adjusting to the sheer culture shock of being in a new world. Others around him also behave sensibly - as in their motivations are clear and not just "muh xianxia mook, me make stoopid decisions!"
I recommend you give this story read, you will be missing out on great fun if you do not. - AlexanderScottRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Strong concept right out of the gate, and I’m excited to see where the story goes. I’m not sure why (yet) the MC reincarnates or why he gains the powers of COS play, but the concept is totally unique. Taking on the powers of Superman is a fun concept too - this could be amazing man later on.
I suggest getting into some action earlier, I’d possible. Also, some of the POV shifting could be improved, but this is a solid beginning and the stakes are outlined clearly. Onward! - TorrentABRoyal Road★★★ 3.0The idea is extremely unique and interesting, and one I definitely would appreciate. Unfortunately the author spends more time talking about what happened rather than showing it, and quite a lot of time explaining the world in large chunks. Normally I can overlook this, as good characters and an interesting idea can carry you through tedious explanations. But after reading 12 chapters, I feel like I barely know any character including the main character, because almost all interactions are dwarfed by over half the chapter explaining some aspect of the world or relegated to “character 1 talked to character 2 for awhile, then they left.” It needs an editor to give it a serious check over, so that there’s more show than tell. I didn’t get further than the 12th chapter before I got too frustrated, so this may have already been cleared up in later chapters, in which case I would just advise that you do the same to the earlier chapters.
Other than that, grammar seemed to be fine, no glaring issues, and the world building seems like it could be interesting if it wasn’t dumped all at once. Author seems like they just need a bit more experience under their belt, so I hope they continue working on the story as I would like to see where it goes. - MangoseekerRoyal Road★★★ 2.5Great concept, but at the beginning already a few questionable points.
If it is a cultivation world, the way Elder behaves makes 0 sense. Talking to a no-name dude as a middleman between Elder and MC, setting up a test wasting time of resources (human) based on what no-name said, having 0 interest in ‘cultivator’ that is supposedly stronger. And to top it off, magical nature of MC’s power becomes overly technical the moment Elder inspects him, and suddenly Elder can use technique on MC like all this makes sense to him.
The impression this novel gave me is stories I imagine when I can’t fall asleep, just me having cool power and trying to make sense of the world without actual world building.
