Chronicles of an Isekai'd Legion: For the Glory of Rome
Community Rating
Description
A wise man once said all roads lead to Rome. He didn’t know how right he was.
Ripped away from the battlefield, Tiberius and his six thousand Roman Legionnaires unexpectedly find themselves stranded in a foreign land of magic and witchcraft. With no way home, their path forward is obvious: conquer everything in sight.
Much to the chagrin of Marcus—the poor, unsuspecting bard who summoned them.
But taking over the world is not so easy. In order to stake their claim, the Legion will need to learn how to navigate the strange magics and abilities this new world has granted them. Abilities which, upon closer inspection, may prove the seed for a legend in the making…
The dawn of a new empire looms on the horizon. Rome will rise anew as they seize cities, battle armies, and expand their territory across this strange and fantastical world. All the while, Marcus will need to figure out how to mitigate the force of nature he's unleashed upon his woefully unprepared world. That, or simply enjoy the front row seat to an epic in the making. Someone will need to tell the story, and who better aside from him?
The die has been cast. The aqueducts are being built. And Rome will once more see glory.

First, one of my main issues with various stories is absent. The writing is excellent, well edited and will spare the reader the annoyance of frequent typos, poor grammar and syntax, and even confusion over what word mean that plagues so much of the writing on this platform and KU.
That alone wouldn't get ***** review from me, but I have to admit it's a great start.
This is indistinguishable from a professional novel. As others have mentioned, it's well researched, and will remind some readers of Turtledove's works of alternate history.
The author has built a world that has a long history, some of which we are just beginning to see emerge as the legion learns about the new world they are in. It has many surprises for them, beyond things like the system.
I don't want to get into sport territory but I'll say that while it doesn't have the usual isekai MC running around, it does have a well developed cast of main characters who each are given enough time on the page to let us see the them develop.
Strongly recommended for fans of stories like Turtledoves alt history books or Eric Flint's Ring of Fire series, and similar.
If you prefer stories about one overpowered MC running around pursuing a purely personal goal, this may not be for you. I would still suggest giving it a read though. - HaveRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story has been great so far, the description of roman legionnaires and even the description of the situation of Rome pre-isekai matches up with roman history. Clearly the story is in an early stage but it's off to a trememdous start. Definetely looking forward to more and how the romans navigate a world with magic
- Bird10108Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well written and thought provoking. It takes a new spin on a story.
Hope the story keeps on growing and it takes several more books to finish given the possibilities and potential. This story will grab your attention. It also raises the ultimate question….how often do you think about the Roman Empire? - FrankenSenseRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really like this book. It has similariets to apocalypse books where the system comes out of no where but with a more systematic approach to figuring everything out. The fact that it confronts many system novels, where 1 person is stronger than 100, and does a very good job of proving otherwise is awesome imo. The Roman setting, and what comes with it, makes it much better than other isekai for me. HIGHLY recommend.
- DefectivebyDesignRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I can't really put into words how good this is, there's nothing else here on par as a new novel, and the only disappointment is not having 50 more chapters, which makes one wonder if the quality can stay consistent long term. It's overall really good with a seemingly high level of Roman lore and logistics. It's not every day someone can write about an entire army being isekaied, and it being good, realistic, and keeping track of multiple characters while being easy to follow and entertaining.
I'd say this could be a legitimate novel that gets printed on real paper if it goes the distance. - E.M. DashRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0When I saw the cover to this I had to read it. I used to play Rome Total War and watched a lot of Roman documentaries on the History channel.
The concept of an entire legion being transported to a different world is a great setup. I'm enjoying the story so far (start of book 2) and look forward to seeing how far the new Roman empire spreads in this new world. - EloidinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I always wanted a good story about monsters and Roman legions and let me tell you, it does not dissapoint!
I know its early days for the story so far but i have confidence its going to be something special!
Bring forth the aquaducts, may all roads eventually lead back to glorious Rome. - Erin ObservaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0What more is there to say, you have Roman's in a system world, the future is a bit unsure as they level up quite slowly i think, and the enemy should have some troops to send in case of need, it's gonna get bloody maybe, for now no one has died but idk how long this will last, and the veterans are limited
- Daoist_MattRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Honestly everything I was expecting was subverted and made significantly better. The author has done a fantastic job on this one.
Characters have different attitudes, perspectives, backgrounds. They all feel like real people and add their own spins to this story.
The world building is slow, but honestly that’s perfect. It’s like a fog of war that gets lifted as the Romans expand.
Grammar is messed up a bit here and there. Simple mistypes is all. It’s not very often, and will probably get edited out if it gets published. Overall it’s fine.
Dialogue between characters is fantastic. I really do just want to sit back and watch them talk to each other. It’s very entertaining.
Give it a try. You won’t regret it. Join the Legion! - JagernachtRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So far a very interesting concept done rather well. The pacing is fluid without rushing, and the story is fleshing out superbly. The writing is also excellent and I find myself unable to stop reading. A very gripping, yet easy to ease into story that leaves the reader wanting more. I would love to see this as a TV series! (Just in case Amazon and/or Netflix is paying attention...)
