Description

Currently on temporary hiatus pending rewrite of some system elements

Most people would come to lament the day the System Apocalypse arrived; it saved Dominic’s life. It came at a price: now he’s a juvenilelion and has to progress like a Beast if he hopes to survive long enough to regain access to his human form. However, Beasts have their own advantages and Dominic has been given a gift as a result of his odd situation. Plus, having the claws and teeth of one of the top predators of the savannah might come in handy in defending against everything that’s trying to kill him. Which is to say: everything.

What to expect?

- A human in a lion body

- Progress! Numbers go up.

- Action - it's a lion-eat-beast world out there.

- Dungeons

- Team-building (after some individual growth)

- Evolution!

- 3x weekly posting (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday). Taking part in Writeathon so 6x weekly posts in November.

- Not your usual (eventual) harem. (Note, several people who are usually anti-harem have said that they would be OK with it in this context so if you're normally put off by them, consider giving it a go anyway).

I’ve been enjoying a lot of monster/ beast Mc stories and this is among one of the ones I enjoy the most. It has a unique (at least to me) touch in that it is kind of a dual MC, with him actually sharing souls with the original lion he has merged into, and their growth. The world building and system is pretty good and well fleshed out. Looking forward to continue seeing their growth together! I also wonder if we will be seeing other humans any time soon!

First of all, this is a great addition to the LitRPG genre. Clever core idea, interesting take on the form, interesting characterization, interesting advancement. Basically, after a LitRPG apocalypse, the hero is reincarnated in a lion body. Recommended 100% even if I did not have a special interest. But I do have a special interest!
See, as a wemic fan, I have to give this story of a lion/man a huge thumbs up. I run the best darn wemic site on the Internet, and I've been a dedicated fan of wemics for over 25 years, so I am really tickled to read this. Let's be clear -- this fic is not about a wemic. A wemic (aka liontaur) is a mythical / fantasy creature, lion from the waist down, human from the waist up, like a centaur, but with lion parts instead of horse parts. This story is about a lion-bodied-human-mind hybrid. But physically like a lion.
But I should say, it is not about a wemic ... YET! The author keeps dropping hints that there will be more evolutions. The hero will "Regain what is Lost" ... and that could mean regaining a human head, torso, and arms! He has already met a 6-limbed creature (a Kesh) and speculated about obtaining a new skill: "Third Pair of Limbs Optimisation." That would be great for a wemic with two pairs of legs and one pair of arms! He could get that from an Evolved Kesh!
I'll be reading avidly to see if the hero evolves into a wemic!

Let me point out the things I liked about the novel.
The story: It's a story about a human in a lion's body, facing life as a lion during a System Apocalypse. That means issues with learning how to walk, and attacks from other residents while not completely confident in his new body. You get the gist of it. It's a pretty nice shift to the usual stories and makes for an interesting enough hook. Kudos to the author.
There are multiple planets that have been combined so some familiar animals showing up, but some other unfamiliar ones too. There's a nice variety
Although the story is told primarily from the human's perspective, the original residing lion of the body is still in existence and seems unhappy with the status quo - perhaps they will come into conflict over their shared body at some point, or perhaps they'll find a way to coexist. There's drama around it.
The Grammar: Grammar and word use is good. It's simple enough and it works well for the most part. Good job there.
Story style: It is generally enjoyable. Again no complaints. Fairly fast-paced although it slows down a bit after the first few chapters. There's a Dungeon arc that starts in chapter 10 but I ain't gonna talk a lot on it.
Character: Fairly good but they can be better.

Nice story of a man reincarnated as a lion. I'm really enjoying it. The system, emphasizing evolution over stat leveling, is a nice touch. Grammar is solid, and chapter length is just right, but the event are a little too long for me, for exemple the dungeon was good but the traps and labirynth in the rewards room were boring. I recommend giving it a try!

Great story with a unique take on the reincarnation genre. A world that is intriguing and interesting, still developing but that's what i came here for. The MC is interesting and dumb but not extremely like other litrpg MC. Oh yeah the pacing is also great it's not rushed but it's also not dragged. Overall its a 5 out of 5 would recommend

This story has good pacing -- not too fast and not too slow, which is honestly hard to pull off, so well done. I really enjoy reading about (slight spoiler)
how Leo (the soul of the lion) and Dominic interact, fight with and influence each other over the course of the series, and how Dominic is always arguing in favor of adding members to the pride that Leo doesn't want to.
It's super interesting. I also love the way his powers grow over time, and while I feel kinda basic saying it like that, it's true; especially once he starts growing into a true chimera rather than staying just a regular lion. The larger mechanics and lore behind why everything happened is really interesting, too.
The grammar is consistently very good. It's easy to follow and new things happen often enough, ie. things take me by surprise often enough, that I don't get bored. I was really sad to catch up to the current chapters, but now I look forward to new chaps every few days ^u^

I was a little bit skeptical at first, but it is surprisingly good.
Even if you typically avoid harems like I do, you should consider giving this a shot. After all, everyone knows how a pride of lions work. You have a male protecting a bunch of females and breeding with them.
It’s worth your time to give it a try!

Only 3 chapters in but i'm already hooked on the story.
No grammar or spelling issues. Plot holes are prevented pretty well via system fugery.. lol... author uses some funny lines that help you get immersed in the story. looking forward to following this one for a long time.
Author has literally 3 worlds to draw upon for world building, quite happy to see that the first animal he comes across is not an earth one. Hopefully some of the strongest and best adaptable earth animals make it into the story.. wolves, deer, snakes, maybe a few less well known, and of course.. the honey badger..

If you love litrpg and monster evolution, this is absolutely amazing. The mc is a human who merges with a lion's body in a world taken over by the system. The world feels fleshed out and it does not feel as if the world revolves around the mc(as with many other litrpgs). One of the best litrpgs in my opinion. It may get a little slow during the dungeon but but I recommend that you read through it. The is one of those books that gets better the further you go

The work is mostly good. The protagonist is one of the stupidest accumulations of narrative matter that I have had the displeasure of reading. They constantly disregard any pretense of forethought. If they were in a room with piranha-filled water below them and a conspicuously labeled faucet on the wall, they would turn on the faucet, panic at the slowly rising water for three chapters, then turn off the water again. Then in the next room, they would see that the water beneath them had crocodiles instead, and think “surely nothing bad will happen if I turn on the faucet this time.” The concept is novel, the grammar sufficient, but the protagonist is intolerable. And while admittedly there is some general foreshadowing that this might be intentional and temporary on the part of the author, I’d argue that smacking someone with a lead pipe then explaining it was a performative art piece makes it worse than if it were an accident.
