I really enjoyed this story!
The characters were fun, and I liked the humor. The overall plot was nice and gave some thought to the wider implications of the app existing while still staying focused on the characters. I'm a little ambivalent about the ending; on the one hand, it certainly fit the themes of the work, but on the other, I don't think there's harm in trying on different personas and I think that could easily have built into a thematic ending as well - Sam, instead of ending on being "just" himself, could have kept all of the options, for when he felt they fit, and that would have been on theme.
If there were a few minor criticisms, there could have been a bit more description of the various characters. I only have a vague idea of what Helen and her friends looked like, and practically nothing about Sam or Cyborg. It would also have been nice to get a bit more physical description, too. Changing into other people or another gender seems like it would feel very different, but it's kind of rushed over. I also felt like the resolution to Helen and Sam's arc was a little off. It seemed to wrap up neatly, only for Helen to be part of the organ harvesting arc in a way that felt a little tacked on when we didn't hear from her other than being rescued. In general, maybe, the relations between the characters could have used a little more wrap up.
I wouldn't call this a criticism, per se, since I don't think it would have necessarily fit into the story, but I would have enjoyed seeing more of Sam being different people, like when he turned into Cyborg or Helen and friends. It seems like being different people, vs being different versions of Sam, might have been interesting to explore.
