“This is a really good story. I have been enjoying it a lot. The perspective is nice and the dual protagonists is good. The writer is doing good work. I look forward to more in the future. It has good pacing and fights with a good look around its setting.”

- Alternat12345Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0First of all, besides being a pokemon fanfiction, this is a romance and drama novel, featuring awkward introspective teenagers. If that repels you, this work probably won't be super enjoyable and that's ok. Just because something is a Pokemon fanfic, it doesn't mean it should appeal to every pokemon lover out there, or even most of them. So don't go in and ask of the author to tone down the drama, since it's part of the story he wants to write.
Style is flavorful. I could do with just a little more variety on the blushing and eye rolling but i have faith that the author is constantly working on its craft. Surely he will come up with more variants on how characters interact with each other in time.
Story is nicely self contained. For now at least, there is no huge conspiracy or big bad, just kids doing a low budget road trip. But I really like the themes the author has been working on, mainly privilege vs self made trainers. I like how the answer is never easy to this systematic problems. Keep in mind this seems to be a world where internet hasn't seen massive adoption, so information really is a premium advantage.
The characters (both human and pokemon) are likeable and have enough personality.
I specially like the impact the trainer keil had on both of them. It shows that even a chump with a bidoof can be a menace if he toughens up. I know it wasn't intended but for a moment there, I was cheering for the bidoof.
Grammar is great, I just finished binging and I think I only noticed one typo on the whole thing. But I always give 5 stars on anything I bother grading.
Since lots of people seem to have advice for the author, may as well leave mine:
Don't get too caught up in comments and critics of the readers. Some will say there is too much romance and others that there is too little progress and they should marry already. Some may say the characters are too competent to be 15yo, others will say that they are dumb for doing this or that or, god forbid, "out of charact - LordJJJRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very promising start to an interesting fic. The author seems to be discovering the direction of the story as they go along and doesn't have a clear angle they want to narrow down on. The focus seemingly jumps between the OC and Cynthia which - it should be fine to have two main characters - but the author seem unwilling to commit. The obvious answer is that the OC should be the focus, as he is the differing factor from the OG Pokémon story, but that it is okay to highlight and explore from Cynthias POV as well -> Otherwise it might've just been better to write Pokemon from her perspective without any otherworlder amnesiac at all. I hope that the plot can move forward and we can explore in depth how these two progress on their journey.
Biggest gripe with the story is that I just wish the author would post more <3 ty for the interesting worldbuilding and characters you have brought to the stage! - AldandurRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Story: The vibe of this story is, for now, full of lightweight fun. At the same time, at least in the opening chapters, both main Characters are exposed to large threats to their well-being and life and have to muddle through this. They take all of this seriously, it is just that the way they deal with this makes all of it seem nonthreatening, creating an interesting juxtaposition. I also love that we get mostly Cynthia's perspective of someone who is presumanly transported into the world of Pokémon, instead of a Character that just follows Cynthia around blindly.
Characters: There aren't a lot of them yet, 2 humans and 5 Pokémon and we haven't had big oppurtunities for them to grow yet. The one that happened was handled, in my opinion, very well, including the awkward moments such a fallout would bring with them. The Pokémon all have a general identity, but apart from the starters, there is nothing deeper than generell identity types yet.
Writing: I have not noticed any mistakes yet. The style is easy to read and comprehensible. The one thing that annoys me, is that the author sometimes chooses to skip potentially intersting dialogues and moments, black boxes them and jumps to its conclusion. For me, it felt once or twice as if that section had been forgotten to be wriiten before the chapter was released.
Dialogue: It is quick, witty and the heart of this story. - BrockMRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This absolutely gets 5 stars. I stumbled upon this by accident and I am so glad that I did. Somehow this mad-lad of an author managed to perfectly capture what a child prodigy Cynthia would be in the beginning while having her retain that same energy that makes her such a beloved character. So far her assembling her team has been very satisfying, and she has great chemistry with the MC. Really hope this story continues. Have a blessed day, whoever is reading this.
- Bsa366Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's very well written. No major spelling or grammatical errors. Unique take on the genre. What's not to like about this story? Honestly the only issue I have is that there isn't a schedule for the chapters so they kinda lead unplanned additional reading. Also just wanted to make sure your buddy can't umm actually you again lol
- B. A. PercyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Lemme just stay, top tier Pokémon story, if it continues as it has been I expect to be the top rated Pokémon story here soon! Characters are flawed, the Pokémon feel like actual hyper intelligent animals rather than people, and the world building is gorgeous. I love the Companion centric view, it is exciting to see the the main character from the eyes of someone else. I am excited to read more.
- Aditzu47748883Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The book is a super warm and fuzzy read, nice coming of age teen romance with the action pack of the pokemon world.
Honestly cant stop reading it, pure bliss.
I hope this book is complete so I encourage anyone who reads this book to leave a fantastic review to support the author. - Gatorfooseball08Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0An enjoyable fun read, with a light hearted tone most similar to the anime. I especially like the narrator being a young Cynthia. Cool tie-in with all the Elite adult trainers from the games and anime now seen as up and coming trainers. Very excited to see where this goes.
Me encanta muchísimo
