Description

The world has changed, and fantastical creatures of all kinds have chosen to lay down their arms and work together. Despite this newfound harmony, some creatures just can't help but stick to their mischievous ways. Enter the goblins—Chumbles, Dinty, and Frink—three friends who aren’t quite ready to let go of the old days of treachery and scheming.The boys find themselves entangled in various harebrained schemes, exploiting loopholes, misunderstanding other race's customs, or just trying to get by in a world that’s moved on from chaos. This one is for fun and I started it for the community magazine contest. Updates will be sporadic, but the full first "episode" will be complete prior to June 30th, 2024. If I get positive feedback I may continue working on it - writing it so far has been super fun!

Chumbles, Dinty, and Frink decide to rob the 'olds', the elderly humans at what amounts to an old folks home. They have some actual dialogue back and forth - none of the witty banter stuff - and they think it through. It does get a bit into the philosophy of age among goblins and humans, but it doesn't dwell excessively on the point. Then they begin to figure out how to go 'treasure hunting'. It is a fun plot with a few side characters and it culminates in an interesting conclusion. Goblins being goblins things turn out a little differently than intended. This was a great read.
