Description
When he was 26, Tallum Frost's sister died. She who supported him and practically raised him, grew ill and died in blur of a week.
In response, he withdrew. He threw everything into crafting fantasy worlds, not even noticing how he wasted away until he collapsed on his keyboard.
Faced with the oblivion of death, he makes a promise: in the next life, he won't run away from his grief. He will build in the present. He will make his sister proud.
"Wait seriously? Another chance, in a world with a System?! Mimi, I hope you are watching. Because this time-"
"Wait a second..."
"Why am I... a Chimera Core?"
Follow Tallum Frost as he establishes himself in his new world. As he discovers friendship, Levels up, and steals body parts from other monsters to craft his own body.
And he will need every advantage he can gather. Because slumbering at the core of this new world is a destiny he can't even begin to imagine...

- theaceoffireRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So this falls into the 'non-humanoid' MC category, one where the main goal is NOT to speed run into a human shape as fast as possible. The main character is odd, accepts this, and tries his best to live well anyway.
No spoilers, but he does attempt to protect the bonds he makes and he is enjoyable to view the world through... No randomly evil acts or endless angst or whatnot.
This is worth your time! - DreamerghostRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0You know the kind of story where MC has an idea about System from videogames? Perhaps actually straight up mentions Isekai? And how the story then usually proceeds to be exactly like every other Isekai as author takes the knowledge of other such stories they have clearly read and completely wastes the chance to do something diferent?
Well this is diferent, at least so far. And MC isn't a blank slate teen of no personality traits. Neither is MC an omnicidal powerleveler, or silly powerfull, or atracting a harem, or bringing glory of Japan Culture/modern technology to the backwards savages or any other dozen tropes such stories tend to sink into like an unfortunate explorer into a poisonous bog.
So far so good. Gonna see if it changes in next hundred pages. - JDCRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm really enjoying this story! The characters are interesting and very distinct. I don't find myself trying to remember who's who. The world-building shows unlimited potential to keep changing. Every mission is quite literally a new world. I feel confident that this is a story that I will stay with until the very end.
- jon mRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Thoroughly enjoying this story so far and excited to see where it goes from here (ch 70 and waiting for next). If you have read author's The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound you will know they are great at developing unique worlds and magic systems for their characters to inhabit and this is no different.
- ominousRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Bring on the leisure! is the motivation shout that drives the Main Character of this reincarnation story.
Tallon Frost is a modern-day web-novel writer who regrets been so catch up with his work that he denied himself precious moments with his family. Now, gifted with a second chance, Frost wants nothing less than to secure a safe haven in this survival-of-the-strongest litrpg world and, finally, leisurely enjoy a life with his new family.
But there is a big problem.
No, it's not that Forst starts with a very odd body.
No, it's not that Frost's new family members are a bit of death-seeking fools.
No, it's not that Frost is one of five lab rats that an amateurish necromancer is using to learn his forbidden craft.
You have earned the Skill (Earned) Foolish Grit.
The big problem is that Frost might not know how to take it easy.

Puddles is an experienced author, and the story flows naturally from challenge to rewards to new challenge while the system prompts catchy messages of how Frost has progressed so far.
A major difference from the author's previous work, LoRG, is that (in so far) we got 1 interlude chapter after 10 main chapters. The author has a talent for world-building but for what LoRG is almost over after 2394 chapters it may still leave me hungry to know more of others characters' side-stories. So I welcome this (possible) chance.
My hopes is that Bring on the leisure! will build a smaller world than LoRG and delve deeper in the details, giving us more parallel stories from both supportive and antagonist characters. (Like the classic Chrono Trigger RPG has done.)
During the first chapters, I noticed some parallels between the three main characters (Lavender, Green, Indigo) and LoRG's characters (Randidly, Yggdrasil, Grim Chimera, Stillborn Phoenix, Neveah). That got me worried that this story was a far-in-the-future spin-off of LoRG. But the most recent chapters have settled this suspicion aside. Flesh characters, flesh story. - the legionRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I think this has the potential to be as good as LoRG was or better by proxy of puddles having learned over the years, although I hope he feeds the free readers more often then prior works.
I know this might come as an unfair criticism, but it's especially important with a newer story- it's now a different writing and getting your work out dynamic compared to a work that had been actively on the site for as long as LoRG had. - LitchiRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Early review of the classic formula of a chimera monster reincarnation, with a leisurely spin.
For now, the characters and fighting are the center of the story. The LitRPG grind is there, but as the title says, it advances with leisure.
Our MC reincarnates into a Chimera Core, with a balanced and interesting system. Instead of a status screen of 6 stats, classes, and new skills, the chimera cores gain body parts with unique effects. By themselves, the chimera is weak, and to stay strong, they need to protect those body parts that can easily be destroyed. It creates instead of a power ramp an interesting power loop. Body parts are destroyed, so you need to fight to get new ones. A bad encounter will not just force you into an inconsequential "heal break" as in most RR stories. There, you lose your hard-earned power. This creates a dynamic litRPG system.
Our reincarnated MC is not trying to grind the system and be the most powerful, and neither this story is a Slice of Life. Our MC wants to have quality time with his new monster friends and create a life where he can be happy taking his time. To balance our MC will of having a slow-paced life, we have his monster fiends, who, as you imagine bring the story a stream of violence and conflict. They are charming, and their interactions are wholesome. This creates an interesting character dynamic, driving the story forward.
The style is simple, following the thoughts and actions of the monster group. I like the fighting scene; the combination of unique chimera abilities and nascent personalities creates variety and tension. Puddle succeded in making the monsters cute!
We have a solid prologue and introduction with few expositions. For now, world-building is not put forward, nevertheless, we have the story of the "main plot" the rise of the monsters.
This is an easy review that I will edit later. One of the points of reading this story is the knowledge that it will go far and eventually finish. A finished LitRPG on RR, is a - Benw8888Royal Road★★★★ 4.0The premise is quite unique. In general, this is a comedy fantasy, where the MC has to come to grips with becoming a monster and being part of a close friend group/family of two other chimeras.
The MC can absorb body parts to give temporary stats, but when the body parts are destroyed the stats are lost.
That leads to the first problem: progress is rarely permanent. For every step forward there’s 0.8 steps backwards.
2nd problem: Miscommunications. His “friend” chimeras are intelligent but frequently misunderstand his intent, leading to them destroying his progress among other things.
3rd problem: Silent MC. Tying into the above problem, the MC never corrects or scolds his fellow chimeras. He just sits there silently when they destroy his stuff, not even telling them that he didn’t want them to do that (the chimeras don’t even know that they’re doing something wrong).
Overall, this story is a japanese light novel-esque comedy fantasy involving miscommunications, a main character constantly getting trolled/frustrated by the system and his companions, and with a unique litrpg chimera premise.
Personally as a progression fantasy enjoyer i find myself frustrated too much when reading this, but if it’s to your taste then you might like it. - NanotrexsRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0The story is quite good and I recommend reading it. There are a few chapters that just read clunky and some troupes that I no longer enjoy in books but apart from these the book is quite novel. It's takes on a monstrous mc is also very nice and his allies strength are nicely done given the circumstances.
- mattirroRoyal Road★★★ 2.5The MC and story are pretty good. Up to this point I was enjoying it. However, there have been 2 growing problems. At this point the other chimera balls are starting to get in the way of my enjoyment. I'm sure others like them, but they take up so much of the story. Maybe if they could actually communicate it wouldn't feel like the MC is carrying 2 babies with him. It's so tedious it's annoying me irl.
