Seven million players were playing the VRMMO ‘Realms of the Veiled Paths’ when an unexplained power surge sealed them inside. Then they began to die. Caleb Stone’s teenage son was among those trapped inside. A son he had lost once. A son he refused to lose again. Caleb was going in to find him—consequences be damned. When he logs in, he awakens in a world gone feral. Months have passed inside. The empires he knew had fallen. The monsters he and his son had fought against roamed freely. The players themselves had become tyrants and killers, carving out warlord kingdoms and forging murderous factions. Only a few held out, searching for a way home. As Caleb navigates these new challenges and gathers allies, he realises the answers to saving his son might just lie in his Tamer class. It was a joke class. Incomplete. Not ready to level. Nobody had known about the hidden code the developers had left behind. And now that code was unleashed. New chapters every other day (4 one week, 3 the next)

I just ad the delight of being able to catch up on this story after having it in my read later for the better part of a week, but I'm really enjoying Caleb's adventures in this new VRMMO story.
I think the author did a great job on the system work and the formatting of the chapters and text -- everything looks great and flows great to read, I notice very few grammar and spelling mistakes at all, and the author provides us with a better-version of SAO style opening with people 'trapped' in the game world. Sometimes, all you want is the good character, who is trying to save their friend/comrade/child (son in this case) and you want to see them go on an amazing journey while doing all of that.
Straightforward motivations and logical conclusions aren't always 'boring' -- when presented with all of the other good elements of storytelling, they're just standard tropes being used competently. I really appreciate that this story goes in with a very 'standard' route, but gets right to the action and the progression. MC is finally getting his first beast and I'm hyped for the first Ajax combat scenes, as well as seeing what kind of beast-progression and skills, levelups, special powers, etc. that the beasts will have.
Give this a shot if you like VR MMO, good combat scenes, fun progression, good update schedule, straightforward progression story. It is still relatively early right now, but it is really looking like there will be a lot of great content later on. :)

Maybe I will be a bit biased to talk about the novel bc I like the concept of beast taming, still I thinking this a novel with a lot of promise, of course it's not perfection, but from the glimpse I read it has a lot of growth potential.
Particularly I am 50/50 with the MC, I like him but some of his actions is somewhat immature of him, mind you that he's almost pushing 40, still the positives are more than the negatives.
The world is well explained by the author and the motives are laid out, we only have to see how the journey will be, I recommend for everyone to try this piece.

This is that rare type of story telling that pulls you from the very start. I've read way to many books lately that have been mediocre at best, and I can say this is not that. This is a story that I hope the author publishes at some point so I can buy it and have it I'm my digital and physical library. I keep looking forward to the next chapter every day so please keep up the great work.
