Bard's First Rule

Description
Bard’s First Rule: Sing of Heroes. Do not become one.
Eleutherius “Les” Crestwell is in no danger of breaking that rule. After escaping the Bardic Academy in the wake of a cheating scandal (not his fault) Les and his prankser lute "Mischief" cheerfully take to the road for a life of wine, wooing and song. And all is going well. Until scaling a tower to cash in on a lucrative wig-making opportunity lands Les pants-less in a goblin dungeon.
At least he’s making friends. More or less. An ice-wielding dwarven sorceress. A half-elf who controls shadows. A nine-foot scalemaw healer (which is about as weird as it sounds). Worse, they're all awfully heroic. Especially the paladin in his ever-shiny armor.
But to get out of this alive, Les will have to work with them. Even if that means tromping around the dungeon to rescue a village of missing children from an evil warlock. The same jealous warlock who just sent Les straight to the stewpot in the first place.
That sort of sounds like heroes’ work.
Uh-oh.
Enjoy a fun-filled romp through a D&D inspired setting full of unexpected twists through a dungeon with goblins galore, action, comedy, and a cast of misfit heroes (plus one reluctant bard) who get the job done. Come for the jokes. Stay for the insanity!

- Brave-LizardRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I had fun reading this. With this kind of quality, I'd expect this story to have been published physically by now...if it had the chapters. It looks like you're publishing your chapters at a nice pace, so keep it up! I'm enjoying the humor, characters, and the path which the story is taking. Thanks for writing this!
- Gundalf69Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Looks good so far, and I really like the humourous tone the book is taking 👍.
That said I was very confused about chapter 4, I was stumped a zher for around 2 minutes before I realized that it probably didn't mean her.
*I hope this review is now 50 characters long* - WhimsiKoi FishRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I have never been very into the bard character trope in the past, but I do enjoy humor and the write up on this story caught my attention.
I'm so glad I decided to give it a try! Les seems like he will be an entertaining character to follow, and I enjoyed the overall subtle ironic tone of Les' story very much.
I appreciate the way the goblin culture is being fleshed out so they still feel like "goblins" but not just the goblin a cardboard cut out. Cinnamon being their drug of choice is highly amusing, but feels valid. Nutmeg after all can have some interesting effects when used incorrectly, so the narcotic cinnamon is very possible.
I'm sure some references are flying over my head since I'm not the most well versed in the D&D community, but I don't feel you need to be an expert to enjoy the story.
My only reason for knocking off a half star is there were two repeated segments in the first chapter, but otherwise nothing stood out in error to me.
I look forward to the future hijinks of Les and his new companions!
