Description
Humans are gods to ants. They can be crushed underfoot, and the world would go on. Immortals are the same to humans. The only difference? One can actually become god, if the Heavens favor them.
Yu Feng was the son of a farmer. That's all he had ever been, and he was completely fine with that. Lofty dreams belonged to children, and his reality was unchangeable. And when a god attacks, he believes his life to be over.
But what if he survived?
Follow Yu Feng on his journey into this world of power, where being strong is all that matters. Will he manage to survive, and know the meaning of doinggood?
What to expect:
Weak to Strong MC (It's a xianxia, duh)
No Golden Fingers
Eventual Romance
No harems. Absolutely not.
Worldbuilding and lore
Intrigue and moral dilemmas
And much, much more.

- ArshiaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A Symbol of Peace is a grounded and thoughtful xianxia that offers a refreshing break from the genre’s typical fare. Rather than bombastic power-ups, golden fingers, or a chosen-one narrative, it introduces us to Yu Feng—a humble, confused, and entirely human protagonist. Thrust into the cultivation world with no prior knowledge, Yu Feng reacts the way many of us would: with awe, hesitation, and curiosity. The result is a story that feels immersive, relatable, and slowly rewarding.
Style (4.5/5): The writing is clean and assured. The prose is neither overly flowery nor too blunt—it hits a sweet spot that feels accessible while still capturing mood and atmosphere. Dialogue flows well, and internal monologue is balanced with action and description.
Story (4.5/5): Though the premise of a sect-joining newcomer is familiar, the execution is what sets it apart. The pacing is deliberate, allowing the world to unfold naturally. The cultivation system is introduced in a digestible way without overwhelming exposition. There’s an ongoing sense of mystery, and small details suggest deeper conflicts to come.
Characters (5/5): Characterization is strong across the board. Shi Qiang’s warmth and humor, Li Qian’s mystique, and Shen Yao’s quiet menace all leave a lasting impression. Yu Feng’s perspective grounds everything and provides an emotional anchor.
Grammar (5/5): The writing is polished and professional. No grammar issues or awkward sentence structures.
Overall, A Symbol of Peace delivers a cultivation story with heart, patience, and emotional weight. It rewards readers who enjoy slower builds, strong character voices, and immersive worldbuilding. It doesn’t rely on spectacle—it invites you to walk the path with its protagonist, step by step. And that, in itself, is rare and worth watching closely. - RaunRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Disclaimer: This is an early review based on the first few chapters. As a fellow writathon participant, I hope this is both encouraging but also genuinely constructive, with honest feedback to the author.
The story quickly immerses readers without much fluff taking off right from the first chapter. The character of Yu Feng is relatable. Typically, we encounter protagonists who are either overly clever and strong, or the opposite, slow to progress and overly cautious. The author has struck the perfect balance here, crafting a character we can genuinely root for. His initial sense of hopelessness, paired with moments of cleverness and resilience, makes for an engaging protagonist. The interactions between Yu Feng and Li Qian are engaging, with the former’s confusion and curiosity serving as an effective way to introduce the mysterious world of immortals and cultivation. The emotional conflict of Yu Feng leaving his family for a greater destiny adds a layer of depth, making his decision feel personal and significant. The addition of the other cultivators hints at a larger, mysterious world that Yu Feng is about to enter.
If I have to give any critique or feedback, it would be that it feels a bit rushed in its execution. Dialogues and interactions can be slowed down with some depth to it. But then, that is my own personal bias as I dig slice of life and character investment a bit too much for an average reader in royal road as otherwise the immersion doesn't work on me. Other readers might love the story the way it is.
Overall, the author does an excellent job of setting up both the world and the conflict while leaving readers eager to see what happens next. The seamless transition from mortal struggle to the hint of greater powers at play invites much curiosity. - violett.linesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0the story is so engaging from the start bro like this is my intro to this genre and i am HOOKED. for the little of the book that is out, the extent of the world building astonishes me (my favorite thing is when books world build well). cannot wait to see how the story progresses as we get more and more content (might give my DnD DM ideas from this stories for our campaigns lmao)
