Description

A Zombie Virus springs up from absolutely no where, infects 50% of the population, who go on to kill and infect 20% more within hours.

The only upside that stopped humanity from dying out and becoming a undead horde was the fact that some kind of system came and gifted everyone who survived with a System. Even more was given to special individuals who [Awakened].

They were truly the bastion of hope for Humanity.

Having read and enjoyed the original story. I feel what was an enjoyable and well-written story has massively improved with what I have read so far.
Moving from first person to third person was the right choice, it has allowed a much broader look at the world the MC is moving through. The story explores the many complex emotions and adaptions that come from the responsibility the MC faces.
Grammar-wise, there have been no real major issues I have noticed so far. Some inconsistencies between US English and British English (Which the story uses) but nothing more serious than that.
The MC has a dry sense of humour that comes through in the narrative and I love the interaction with the cat, Misty.  She has already proved her worthiness as his companion. The MC is unusual in he is not a young fit athletic type but an older and less able-bodied man thrust into a whole new reality. Before he was transported he was a disabled late-middle-aged man happy in his solitary life. That has rather changed and he is learning to deal with this as best he can.
I look forward to the rest of the book and hope it continues in this fashion.
