- AsspanzyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So, let’s expand on the synopsis:
Who is the main character? An industrious artificial intelligence newly born into the world. It immediately knows (or more accurately, it instinctually does) it’s purpose.
What is the world? Standard DnD LitRPG fantasy world, but with it’s own quirks and intricacies as is usual.
How does this particular Dungeon Core do its thing? Well, that’s the fun part of this book. Unlike the cores in other LitRPG Dungeon Core novels, our MC can’t just create and spawn everything from mana to matter in an instant. It needs to craft and build everything, including the things it needs to view it’s own dungeon. It needs to make and process its materials. It needs to find ways to store and organize things. And its monsters can’t evolve and give it better monster blueprints. No, it’s monsters are golems. It needs to design them, analyze them, test them and reiterate them to get the kinds of minions it needs. Same for anything else in the dungeon.
And, finally, what is the story overall about? Standard stuff. Building the dungeon, learning about the world and defending against invaders. Nothing special. But that’s what I’m here for, so no complaining from me! - DWinchesterRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Dear Author,
I would like to reject your statement about ceasing work on this beautiful factory dungeon. I demand you return to your station post haste. If you do not, there will be consequences. (Though, if you aren't going to do anything with it, I might pick up this idea one day. It was fun.) Good work Death-69 - Meldel46Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Wow! Just wow, this is so wonderful and amazing I can hardly find the words to conceptualize how I feel about this story. It captures the essence of all I want and like, beautiful beautiful beautiful.
It's basically all I ever wanted plus more, it has elements from all my favorite games but not too much that it basically feels like a cheap copy of said games. I love it with all my heart and soul, truly a beautiful piece of art written to the best of the author's ability and skill.
You should definitely give it a try, it's such a shame that it isn't getting more attention as it's soooooo good, what an unfair and unfortunate world we live in.
If I could rate it 10 stars I would, but sadly that amount of stars is yet to be implemented.
The mc is flawed but is learning and the world is expansive and large, so much mystry and intrigue, the power system is unique too, the rpg system is unique and has it's own style, along with the monsters we've seen so far, actually intelligent goblins? So cool.
My favorite part was the fight
Between the frost goblin and the guardian, I would pay money to see that animated! Definitely looking forward to more fights like that. - THEADKINGRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Dive into a mesmerizing world where magic meets machinery in the captivating first chapter of this novel. Picture a dark cave, pulsating with an otherworldly blue light as Iteration [1] awakens, bringing the very essence of automation mana to life. It's a symphony of discovery, and you're invited to witness the protagonist's enchanting journey.
The storytelling is like a masterful brushstroke, painting a vivid canvas of creativity and wonder. Iteration [1], with its bulky central core and enigmatic surroundings, becomes a guide through the unexplored realms of automation mana. The narrative unfolds with a delightful blend of intricacies and a sense of awe, immersing readers in a magical realm that feels both mysterious and full of potential.
As Iteration [1] experiments with its powers, shaping the very fabric of reality, the narrative dances between the technical details and the sheer joy of creation. It's a magical workshop of possibilities, from transforming stone into the enchanting automata stone to breathing life into golems with an exquisite finesse.
The chapter lays down the foundation for an epic adventure, leaving readers on the edge of anticipation. The author effortlessly captures the complexity of this magical system while maintaining a human touch, making it an enticing read for those who crave a perfect blend of fantasy, mystery, and the limitless wonders of automation mana. Get ready for a spellbinding journey into a world where every page is a portal to enchantment. - Zenaok5Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Have you ever noticed something and instantly got a feeling that you'd like it? When I chanced upon this book a similar thing happened to me.
As a pro minecraft and Mindustry player I may be a bit biased but here me out!
I absolutely lovelove this book, it incorporates all the things I love seamlessly, making it an enjoyable read.
The AI dungeon core just mskes this even more interesting and attention pulling. I especially love the crafting and experiments that are conducted by the Mc. The LITrpg elements are unique and fresh too, further adding to the book's succulent flavour. The mc's goals are immediately set and he springs into action which is nice, no fumbling there whatsoever.
The twist on how he gets monsters and items was brilliant. The AI has to earn everything it has, working hard to get it and even harder to protect and grow it too, it feels organic and natural, like how real progression should be.
The style is fine 10/10
Not gonna comment on grammar as im not a native English speaker.
Story is a solid 10/10 ofc.
Character is a ten too.
This story was the exact one i was looking for all this time. - ghost_of_hotsauseRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love everything about this story: the knowledge we have and that which we don’t makes me want to read a small bit more to try and understand this thoroughly thought out world with a narrator who only wants to automate everything. Another thing that swept me off my metaphorical feet were the use of different view points, as I usually don’t like shifts in the view point but all of the view point changes have been important to understanding the world Automata is in.
TLDR: it’s an amazing automation dungeon core story. - Electrico_10kRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This book started very interesting and continued to keep me captivated throughout, the only reason I dint give it a full 5 was because of its ending in a cliffhanger. The perspective of the dungeon going trough constant innovation was great and it's human like feeling while encompassing an aspect was truly amazing. The inclusion of his other self and them also becoming more than what they were was very heartwarming and interesting.
- FuzzybunnyRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The story is improving as the chapters progress, but there is a focus on numbers and a lack of descriptiveness that some may find offputting.
There is an old saying that goes "don't tell me about it, show it to me" and I think it applies here. While I am certain the author knows the difference between a builder golem, a builder golem v2, a combat golem, and a golem. It's difficult for me (as a reader) to keep em straight.
I have high hopes for this story, and hope the Author continues to let their creation (and their writing) evolve. - Turk MistroRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5This story includes a number of rare and enjoyable concepts. However they’re not particularly well put together. This story’s a bit of a mess.
the three biggest issues I’ve identified are:
1. Balanced enemy encounters. While usually a good thing it doesn’t mix with you’re automation brand dungeon. It’s an issue if expansion and defence is too difficult.
The story’s too much like mineindustry and too little like factorio. If you’re going to make combat a major focus then you’d need to not push quite as hard for the end game at the start. As well as focusing on tactics, micromanagement, raiding and preemptive raiding.
Otherwise just make the mc’s combat stuff more effective and the enemies alot weaker.
2. Not expanding fast enough. So this is a fairly common issue and to be clear I AM being a hypocrite. but the mc is a hopeless turtle.
Sitting down and making everything perfect < Ultra aggressive expansion. It’s sad but true.
3. Bad fixes for the aforementioned issues.
Namely the guardians introduced in ch16 and the metal dimension portal introduced in ch12. The former makes the mc’s combat units pretty useless. And the latter makes expanding lines of defence even more difficult to implement.
In spite of all that bitching I’m actually fairly hopeful for the future of this story. The authors got good taste and more importantly seems rather earnest. Its still early days but.
If your new to this story and are worried that it’ll be dropped I’d say to give it a go. - Skeletonlord1Royal Road★★★★ 3.5One of the robot dungeon stories so far that hasn't dropped or changed
YET because for some reason or another they jusy end up changing the story for no reason or just drop it
So for this one hasn't and i like that
Good plot good storty and good AI them
