The premise of this story sounds very interesting, how often do we see apocalypses in fantastical worlds? Much less zombie ones. Chapter 1, which is the prologue, sets up the background of the world but at the same time introduces the major problem with this story.
It reads like the outline of a first draft.
The prose isn't overly remarkable, but isn't bad. It just reads as short and clipped, and touches on many tropes without adding much new. I didn't notice many grammarical mistakes, but as it's written the story just isn't a fun read.
That said, if at some point this is used as an outline for something more fleshed out.. I could see it becoming something really really good. I hope if the author reads this, you understand that I'm really not trying to be mean here, and I'm sorry if it comes across that way.
