I'm 6 chapter in and I'm enjoying the story so far, the characters have a good balance to them and there's a bit of humour that stops it being too serious. I'm getting the hang of how magic works in the world and what the larger city might be like so I'm looking forward to learning more about that. It's fun the way they keep getting themselves into deeper trouble, can't wait to see how they manage to get out of it!

Now this one is a damn good read. The tale of two young lads striving to fill their fathers' shoes despite challenges and obstacles thrown at them by a cast of immediately colorful characters.
There is no doubt that this author has put a huge amount of work into the details of this tale. The potion making process and ingredients, the magic system and the really well thought out city, stand testament to this. Excellent world building.
The style of the story is nothing particularly new however its a sound example of a tried and proven approach to story telling and pacing.
The story truly is the hero. The environment is so rich in scope and is the perfect stage for a story packed with twists turns and believable motivation. Bravo.
Grammatically sound and very little to jar or distract from reading enjoyment.
Characters are all wonderful, described well and we are shown them as opposed to told about them. My one criticism and cause for snipping off a star is dialogue.
Everything about this read is enjoyable but the dialogue and interaction between the characters sometimes seems quite wooden. Draks and Silt are the stand out voices and have some flavour of their own.. the rest just seem to need a shot of individuality in their speech and mannerisms.
I truly hope that criticism is taken as constructive because I am hooked in and will read this all the way. I am already sad that the binge is over and I have to wait for more chapters.
Finally, that cover is great.. this work has the potential to be a real star package. Well done.
