- LifeWisherRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's a great take on the System Apocalypse genre. If you're looking for boring chapters you won't find any here as once things start happening they never stop!
The presence of our beloved blue boxes is the cherry on top, and the way the skills of the MC and his cousin are developing so far is quite fun, to say the least. From what I've seen the author will be having a lot of room for creative expression and fun skills in the chapters to come.
The world is well crafted, at least what I've seen of it. There's been quite a few different enemies in the short amount I've read through and the action was enjoyable. Having mythological creatures pop up is always a plus. Without spoiling anything I need to say that I also quite enjoy the quest system and the author's take on it.
I think an edit and maybe some polishing of the dialogue and the sentence structure would serve the story very well, but considering this is written for the Writathon and the author is posting daily, it's already at an impressive level and I've seen no other issues other than a missed!
If you enjoy a fast-paced LitRPG story with frequent System messages and great action, give it a try. - thegoodman99Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you're hankering for some fun skills and numbers going up, you've found the right story. I'll admit I'm a sucker for OP MC's and Rocks delivers that and more with his story. The skills are fun, the system is exciting, and the OPness is magic!
Style: I really like the system Rocks uses and how he styled it like a game system, coloring skills, and equipment with rarity. When I read that orange text, it felt just like getting epic loot. I like that and want more of it. The writing could be better in the early chapters, and it's clear Rocks improves as the story progresses. Part of the reason for the rough edges like narrative shifts and such is that the story was written during the Writathon where it is a grind to get out words. Now that the grind is over some editing can clean up the edges.
Grammar: Nothing jarring enough to pull me out of the story.
Story: The earth has been taken over by a system, and monsters have invaded. Noah is in the middle of nowhere with the apartment he inherited. He's joined by his cousin right before the system takes over, and now they have to survive in a new world and find a way to get to their families. There are quests and threats all around, and on top of it all, Noah has a tiny world in the palms of his hands. I'm happy with how the story is going. Quests are fun, and the skill progression is better.
There are a lot of elements of the story that I like and am excited about... which I'm going to avoid writing because of spoilers.
Character: Noah and Mark are the two mains. Both have classes and their own strengths, which Rocks does a good job distinguishing between them. So far, the two characters are guys I'm rooting for. I'm interested to learn more about their backstories, how they will handle their new lives, and how much stronger they both will get.
I have enjoyed reading A World in the Palm of My Hands and am excited to see how the story progresses. Where I'm at in the story, it looks like lots of fun ahead, and I'm gonna be - RyleoPatelRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Overall review: This story is a great pick for anyone who enjoys a fast-paced LitRPG adventure with a healthy dose of humor and action. The author wastes no time throwing you into the post-apocalyptic world, where magic and monsters are the new normal.
Style review: The writing is casual and easy to follow, making it a quick and enjoyable read. The author doesn't skimp on the LitRPG elements, so expect to see lots of levels, skills, and stats.
Story review: The plot is all about action and adventure. From the moment the apocalypse begins, Noah and Mark face one challenge after another. The world-building is interesting, leaving you wanting to know more about the secrets and mysteries of this new world.
Grammar review: The story is easy to read. I didn't notice any glaring typos, which is always a plus. However, the punctuation could be improved for better clarity.
Characters review: Noah and Mark are the heart of the story. They're relatable and funny, with a strong bond that makes them fun to follow. Their banter and interactions add humor and depth to the story. Talal is another interesting character, offering a unique perspective on the new world and the challenges it presents. - Class: JonathonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0An enjoyable start, and a story you can get stuck straight into in the early chapters... if the characters keep progressing at this rate there'll be no 'slow burn' here! This is Early review at Chapter 5 as that's all the chapters published so far, will be good to follow through the writathon, looks like the author will be publishing often.
STYLE:
Style is casual and fast paced. Be ready to take in a lot of information about the new world system very quickly! By way of constructive feedback, I think the reader would benefit from some additional detail in both explanation and world building. It's fast, which I like, but I also need more info!
STORY:
While borrowing elements from LitRPG tropes we all know and love, this is a story that looks to have some interesting original elements. It's a story with a lot of unanswered questions as at Chap 5, so it's also a story with plenty of room to grow.
CHARACTER:
So far we've met two human main characters who knew each other before the apocalypse, and their rapport is good, they bounce off each other well. We've also met a mythical character, which was interesting and original and I look forward to finding out more about him.
GRAMMAR:
I'd encourage the author to work hard on sentence structure... some of the sentences hard to read through which detracts from the flow of the story. I'd also suggest only using expletives in dialogue, as there's a difference between a character saying "something is fucked" and the narrator describing something as fucked.
OVERALL:
Good start rockspen, thanks for putting yourself and your story out there, and look forward to seeing where it goes - MrElatmaniRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Thanks for such a great read. Really well written and hope you get to work in the second book!
!!!Spoiler!!!
This reminded me of world seed. Really interesting that he could have his own world, potentially to cultivate from. Having the ability to use elements gave a great amount of versatility to the story. I love system apocalypse books and wish there were more! Thanks again for the book! - MalkyrRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5OVERALL SCORE: 4.5 stars

This debut chapter earns high marks across the board, showcasing the author's talent for crafting compelling storytelling and immersive world-building. With its engaging style, captivating plot, strong grammar, and well-rounded characters, "A World in the Palm of my Hands: A LitRPG Apocalypse" promises an exciting journey ahead for readers. - AncientDreamZzRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5After reading all the (6) available chapters so far, I found the pacing to be very enjoyable and engaging, with things kicking into gears right from the start. The story also doesn’t explain everything right from the beginning, leaving room for plenty of story-growth and world-building. I look forward to seeing what type of novel this will grow into!
Style
The author uses easy-to-understand wording and descriptions that are not too over-the-top, it’s very easy to understand, and I especially like how the author tackles dialog between the characters, even without using too much description, they still managed to bring out the emotions behind their words nicely.
Grammar
There’s not a lot to say about this. Sentence structure seems good to me, although I notice that some paragraphs could be paraphrase better for the sake of clarity. Other than that, the grammar doesn’t disrupt the flow of reading at all.
Story
6 Chapters isn’t telling me a lot about the story, although I like that the author isn’t describing or explaining everything out-right, as I feel like that gives a sense of mystery to the story. So far, things are moving along at a nice and quick pace, which I personally enjoy.
Character
I’m introduced to quite a bit of a cast right of the bat. MC and another character that knows each other before the plot of the story began, which I’ve not seen a lot of novels do. It’s nice to know that MC has friends lol. Their dialogs are funny to read at times and their conversation sounds realistic. - Polyist's ApostleRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Title: A World in the Palm of my Hand: An Apocalypse LITRPG
