Imagine, being so addicted to reading that you went into crippling debt just to be able to click that 'next chapter' button again and again...
That's what happened to Eli, in A Victim of Online Fiction - which the name does pretty well spell out.
Unfortunately, unlike most companies that will sue the pants off you or set the government on ya, this particular webnovel company instead resorts to kidnapping and slavery!
Eli must pay off his debt by creating more fiction to drive the platform forward, while also earning enough views to afford things like... basic food.
It's a very entertaining meta-story, author-progression story, and I recommend it. It also includes (at least occasionally) comment-to-in-story interactions, so get commenting!

Once again, I read something to try and get my review achievements and I'm hooked to the whole story. At this rate, I'll be kidnapped and put into a room myself to write for views.
Which, honestly sounds like a good way to be productive.
This is a well written and well-executed meta look at the dangers of webfiction addiction. A humorous cautionary tale. And I am absolutely here for it

This is hilariously relatable. A writer and their experience, my only question is why they are in jail if I was reading that correctly. In short, this story pokes fun at the concept of writing, and audiences as well. My guess is that it is due to Royal Road. I can see others getting a good laugh out of this, so give it a go and see for yourself.

It's a fun comedy take that probably only a writer could love and yet here I am loving it. I, myself would like to see the novelization of a novelist forced to novelist. But do I want to write it? Yes. Did someone already do an adequate job? Also yes.

I found the initial premise fun, and I'm still hooked five chapters in. I didn't expect this to be such an engaging premise, but it is really a good, fun read. The concept of a web novel author being forced to crank out views for food is a simple premise, but one that feels really fresh and new. I really look forward to reading more of these.
I hope this review gets Eli a few more rice crackers. You need them man.
