- NavieRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This book and the author is waisted on RR and I hope the author is making money in some way, These novels are really decent, They provoke thought deeper than the surface of what is presented to you if you allow your self the time to think on the implications.
The best term I can use to describe this novel is to say it's a: Traditional non Traditional novel. - Brainballer12Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5It's different so far and that's good. On this site it seems as if nobody can do a decent Scifi novel with copy components by adding mechs or a thousand different POVS. This seems like a step in that direction so, I look forward to more progress being made to this novel
- ShaylaRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Although I'm a sucker for space and battle type of stories so there's certain positive bias involved, I believe this is a fairly well written space sci-fi.
We're introduced to our protagonist in a quite abrupt manner - for analogy it feels like the prologue and book 1 are already done and we're starting off from book 2, without actually knowing anything. Snippets from here and there which include talks of the past between different people and suddenly introduced characters slowly reveal things about our protagonist's life so far.
Pacing has been decent, nothing overly dragged out for the sake of it, but also not too rushed. Story more or less makes sense.
My only real issue is some type of realism to the main character's personality. He seems to be jumping from fulfilling suicidal orders to not ruin his career, to yelling at a table full of senior officers.
The explanation at the start of the story for him joining the Navy seemed to be issues related to a certain princess, which then turned to unexplained extreme patriotism seemingly beyond his love for his wife or friends, to then being a job assignment from his old workplace. It just seems so flimsy.
Did i enjoy this story so far? Certainly.
