This is the story of Lin, a citizen of the Yang kingdom. She is also a fate-weaver who has control over the fates as she weaves them into a tapestry. Once she has incorporated them all, her purpose will be fulfilled and will perish. Before she does, she wants to make her country a better place. Her desire to spin the fates in a positive light is important and fuels her desires.
Style: While starting slowly in the first couple of chapters, things pick up shortly after. The flow, dialogue, and the main character's inner thoughts shine through enjoyably.
Story: The way the author writes a captivating story around the main character and her need to guide the fates to a positive future is one that I enjoyed.
Grammar: I didn't come across any issues in grammar.
Character: Lin and her relationship with the emperor and her country are portrayed in a way that makes both her and the emperor likable and relatable in the context of wanting to keep their home country alive and thriving.
Overall a great story set in an exciting period. The main character and her motivations carry the story, and the supporting cast is interesting and believable. I enjoyed reading it. I would bet that this story and the author's other works are equally great reads.

    Style:
I do not grade style, but if I have to give something. Know it is in third person PoV, and easy to follow. And it does well to paint the scene I would say.
    Grammar:
Honestly, I think it is fine.
    Story Score:
Carrying the threads of fate, one who weaves together potential things to happen. Lin being one of those who has this burden, she bears witness to this. As this is a family line of responsibility. This being made clear as it goes along, and one of the things on the line this time, is a kingdom. Bringing grave news to the ruler. It goes into the effort she made in an Imperial exam, learning certain things. As while her task would be to simply see what happens, there were also other skills that were useful to have. The plot seems to take a turn into how Lin will be able to weave the fate she wants, versus only witnessing.
    Character Score:
Each plays a fine role, with Lin being amongst the center. Which is probably expected, but I guess not so much at the same time. As she is a weaver of fate, and meant to be on the side as she witnesses what happens. There are a range of characters, even one from the underworld I suppose it is. All of them nicely aligns, and helps bring things forward. So rather than being dictated, it flows.
    Overall,
A solid story about a story of those who are witnesses of fate by weaving a thread of it. A family line, but steadily goes into going beyond this. As far as I have read. The prose used is okay I will say, and nonetheless. It is an interesting read, I’d say give it a chance yourself and see.

5 Threads sets the rules for the world and its characters right out the gate. It drags the reader in head first, though all you will feel is a smooth slide until you're fully immersed in the story and can't look away. The story follows a Weaver of Fate, someone shackled with the burden of weaving the strands of fate they are given. It is a thankless job, and one that can crush the souls and resolve of those who do it. The main character in particular has 5 Threads that appear catastrophic but, bucking the trend of Fate Weavers being simple observers, she resolves to reshape the world until she can save it from her Threads.
Story - easily the strongest part of the author's storytelling. It tells you where it's heading very early on, and then surprises you again and again with how it gets there. I loved the 'ohhh so that's what that was about' moments that I had repeatedly in only the first six chapters. This is one of the most cleverly constructed stories on rr. Honorary sixth star for the exceptional storytelling.
Grammar - absolutely perfect, no issues
Character - gotta take a little pot shot at some of the other reviewers here: a lack of flamboyant personality quirks does not mean a character is bad. There's a definite flavour on rr when it comes to character design, and this story does step away from that. The characters are their to complement the story, not the other way around, but they fulfill their intended purpose beautifully. And the MC is a woman whom the Universe literally told 'it is your job to not have any agency in your life at all' to which she replied by going 'no f**k you'. She is literally defying a universal concept, that's a damn impressive character right there.
Style score - the style is phenomenal. Beautiful, but not overdone, there isn't a single wasted word in this story. It has been masterfully put together. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you've a mind to appreciate the writing style and how it complements the story it is t

This story reads like a fairytale. It's short and beautiful in it's simplicity and it's message. It's clever and incredibly well written. It's nostalgic. I was reminded of some of my favorite childhood stories, the bittersweet ones that don't really hit you until you're an adult thinking back. I honestly don't know what else to say about it. I loved it. I'll be reading it again. I definitely recommend it. That's all.

So, my advice if you want to jump into the action go to chapter two! From there the story flies forward to the ending.
I recommend for those wanting to read an intelligent protagonist (but not broken or OP).
The characters are simple but have personality they are relatable and understandable.
Style and grammar is very good.

A beautifully written short story about Lin, a Weaver of Fate, someone who aims to change the futures of the kingdom and alter the statement of the five strands of fate.
Style: the prose is simply beautiful, so smoothly written it keeps me immersed within the story during all chapters. The author really does a good job on creating a certain imagery that gives the story a poetic feel.
Story: a well established plotline that is solid, logical, and entertaining. There is enough foreshadowing for the reader to have an idea of what may come next, but also many surprises along the way that extends beyond the expectation. Sometimes, I found the side-by-side scenes lacking some cohesion, as the story takes on several time skips, but this type of flow is also a stylistic choice and wasn't a big problem throughout reading.
Grammar: nothing crazy aside from a few small mistakes.
Character: I love Lin's persevering and independent personality; I felt moved several times throughout reading at her efforts to alter fate (especially at the end). One thing I would suggest is to give her character more depth, or even just motivations aside from being a Weaver of Fate. This would bring her character to a deeper level and allow more people to resonate with her choices.
Overall: super enjoyable read, props to the author!

Style - High quality writing. Clean formatting. Detailed and descriptive. Perhaps too much detail in Chapter 1, though? Good use of third-person perspective, but some instances where it can read like a script/screenplay.
Story - Interesting setting and idea. There's an intriguing and mysterious supernatural element at work. The beginning could use a stronger hook. It might even be worth considering making Chapter 2 the first chapter and jumping right into the story? There are some moments of confusion e.g. people appearing and disappearing and flashback with no explanation (until later on in the story), which would be okay, except when compared to the amount of description of unimportant things, makes it seem like more of an issue at the time. It’s admirable that elements of the story are inspired by historical literature.
SPaG - Spelling, punctuation, and grammar are top-tier for RR.
Character - We learn more about Lin’s history in Chapter 3 and see her plan coming to fruition in Chapter 4, but I feel we're still unclear about who she is and what her motivations are. The story may be a slow burn, but I would hope to understand her actions and thought process a bit more by now, if only via omniscient narration.

I don't have a lot to say besides that this story is an exceptional novel to read. It may be short, so it's quick and easy to binge through.
The story is quite charming, especially Yao lin, the MC. I don't want to spoil too much of it because of how short of a story.
It also is written beautifully. The character's emotions are written well, and the environment is detailed amazingly. This kind of writing inspires me to do better as a writer.
All I can say is the first chapter is somewhat confusing and left me scratching my head, but the following chapters are well-paced and well told. High recomomdation.

5 Threads of Fate, as it is so far, is a really interesting story! The first chapter might have been a bit of a slog because it was hard to tell what the main character's powers actually entail, what her motivation is, and some of the other rules set up by the role of fate weaver. Despite this, the second chapter was an absolute thrill to read, and makes you want to binge read the series if it didn't only have 3 chapters.
Seriously, get through the first just so you can get to the rest of the story, it's definitely worth it.
    Advanced Scores:
Style: I really enjoy the author's style. They perfectly mix dialogue, thoughts, and prose to make a really fun read. They say they aren't a native english speaker, but I don't see it. Their command of the language is impeccable.
Grammar: Going off of what I said in the last score, I couldn't find any issues. The grammar is likewise nigh-flawless and gets a perfect score from me as well.
Story: This is where things start to fall off a bit. The plot so far is great, but the premise set up in chapter 1 was confusing enough that I can't really tell what the main character's goal is or what she's capable of. As a "Weaver of Fate", she can see what is to be and is tasked by her family to simply observe, but it's also ambiguous whether she can change fate with her powers as well. If the author goes back to clear this issue up, I'll happily bump up this score by another star to the 5 it deserves.
Characters: The characters introduced so far are fun and interesting, though there are about 3 that really count as important. I'm curious to learn more about what they went through and what drives them.

Overall I was really impressed. I really like the setting and I really feel like I'm there. I don't see a lot of stuff from this era or setting so it was a welcome change of pace.
Style score is 5 because I really like the way it was written. I was really impressed with the flow of the words.
Story score is 4 because while I liked the story it needs more connective tissue between scenes. Once you get used to flow I think this won't be a problem for you. Overall I really liked the idea of it.
Grammar score is 4. Honestly I would not know you were a non native speaker if I didn't read it in your bio. I did notice a few mistakes but nothing egregious.
Character score is 3. While I really like your characters they do need to be flesh out more. It doesn't feel like they have their own motivations. I hope it doesn't seem like I'm nitpicking. I just think you need a little work on characterization.
Overall I really liked it and look forward to more. I'll also check out your other projects. You got yourself a follower.
