    The narration here feels like a documentary, knowing what should seem unknowable. The prose is good and yet the sense of the all-knowing narration that takes us through is an observer who doesn't emotionally get involved and perhaps has some twisted glee, revels in what is unfolding. It reminds me of the tone of those nature documentaries where it follows prey and discovers 'there is always a bigger fish' sort of aspect. The tone makes the piece sort of difficult to get into. The prose is good.
