Young Master Xian

Description

Xian Qigang was a typical xianxia young master; arrogant, narcissistic, and cruel.

Well, I guess he wasn't so typical, because even his own family couldn't tolerate him.

So much so that they sent him off to some tiny town where his stink would no longer rub off on them.

Xian Qigang is gone now though, and through no fault of my own (I think) I'm now behind the reins.

Yeah, I know. I'm screwed.

But, hey, at least the power's nice.

Very well written take on the body snatcher trope, great dialogues that flow naturally and interesting characters with well defined traits and objetives.
Its only flaw is perhaps the shortness of chapters, leaving one with the itch up.
I say we let this author cook. So far, so so good.

The main character is a lot of fun. He acts different from other main characters in similar stories. Watching him learn how to cultivate and defy expectations is really fun.
I also like that it is more about him helping others than his own growth, though that is not neglected.
Give this story a chance and read a few chapters.

Story is good, characters are good, pacing is good. Good setup, good world building. Good progression, good interactions.
    I give this good/good
to advance to great please release more chapters
The story is still finding its feet, introducing all the characters and setting up the progress. I am excited to read about the progression and world. it's taking its time in the best way.

The beginning was a bit off for me but that was just the prologue and chapter one but it pulled me in on the second chapter if I'm married just kept getting better it reminds me of a bunch of the good points of other such stories while still being original I guess what I'm saying is I like it it's good it's that's good if not better than most Isekai and xianxia and from what I've seen so far it has potential to be an actual money maker a boogie in publishing had it be popular wherever it is be here or in Korea or China or wherever you live

An innovative isekai, that handles the traditional tropes with a fresh perspective. By that I mean it have all the tropes like a cheat power, multiple love Intrests, unique magic system, face slapping and making meaningful bonds, only point missing is that there is no overarching goal aside fm rising in culture vation that is apparent yet. But the way the author have designed his world .I am sure he have larger plans.
But what the innovation part I was talking about. Is that it uses those tropes in a way that their essense which essentially gets lost when applied mindlessly , is realized beautifully. For ex the mc doesn't gets li to fall for him because of his goody two shoes nature fm day one. But there is a clear character arc for why these women are falling for him. It would be interesting if MC expand his harem beyond these two , because in the hand of this author I belive he will do justice to them.
Similarly his cheat power is not sure shot guarantee, though given the setting it have yet to fail the mc in crucial time. I like to imagine that author draws a lot before actually writing the power up and battle situation  to give himself and his character a challenge .
Finally as of now the world is big emptybecause we are essentially at the starting town equivalent of the narrative but let it not fool you. Because the the way the writing is handling these tropes especially knowledge of our world and morality of the character which is not needlessly Confrontational but is upstanding enough when in need is a mixture find rarely in these types of stories.
Overall as of the current ch this story achieves what it sets out to do. There are many horizons that this story needs to achieve, like for ex what is the power structure of this world i.e, is it like that of ascendence of bookworm a highly stabilized system with built in prejudice where even the most op mc the best they can do is make incremental reform , with a long term vision for change but that is in the span

Ignore the reviews about Mc babbling about things, especially ones who don't have the decency to read more than 10(somewhat short) chapters.
MC doesn't have any memories and panics like a normal person does, and with his servant being a practical, clever woman, she finds out about him.
It's a very good cultivation novel, give it a try.

Starts well, cool cheat power mechanism and interesting characters! Can't wait to see where the author takes it.
I enjoy the MC having to pretend to be the person of whose body he reincarnated in, and the complicity with the servant girl whose life also hangs in the balance.

First things first, Xian - the original - is a scum of the earth that manages to score lower than the average Xianxia 'young master', and that's a permanent point of contention throughout the plot so far, he's convincingly hateable, to the point that I've rooted against the MC in certain occasions. If my current theory of Xian swapping bodies with
J - the most of MC's name we got so far
, I really hope we get a chapter dedicated to watching him work a soul crushing job, or incarcerated for trying to attack a police officer.
Now, in relation to the story as a whole, it's hard to say much, the characters are pretty believable, there's no manic pixie at the current point of the story, and the writing hints to a pretty well built and interesting narrative, earning my interest and a five hours long binge to get to the most recent chapter. I can only hope for a future of intertwined political drama and progession fantasy promised, and that relationships won't be rushed to the point of feeling blunt and expressionless - which, don't get me wrong, doesn't seem to be the case, but it still seems too early to be sure

the characters are fun and it shows some promise, yet the really badly implemented cheat system breaks all immersion.
essentially he has a 1/20 chance of getting a 125x more powerful item whenever he touches any item with qi in it, even cultivation techniques
I would've liked to be told this was a litrpg in the tags, at least then I wouldn't have been so disappointed.
the cultivation system is also really bad honestly, with cultivation manuals being strictly tiered in increasing level of cultivation speed of 1x, 5x, 25x, 125x, and 625x, with no discernible reason for why that is.
the mc also is doing epik shiz without even trying to. "oh gosh darn it, I've done it again. giving people a 1/1000 super awakening with just a normal conversation, ugh."
    that type of stuff.

I'm always on the look out for good xianxia story. This in't one.
Writing quality isn't very good, but somehow better that some ot the other slop I've read on here.
Dialog is just straight up bad. Right from the very first chapter and doesn't improve in the few other chapters I've read.
I would recommend not wasting your time on even starting to read this, hence the review.
