- AdorableCatRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This novel is a translation. So it's old-school cultivation novel and the way it should be score is different from western cultivation novels.
Even if we take into account that it's a translation cultivation novels written by western authors have better world building and story coherency, no doubt here.
What makes Chinese novels to standout is how authentic "dog-eats-dog" and vicious cruelty of cultivation worlds.
When you read majority of western cultivation novels there are few tropes authors don't dare or can't avoid.
For example, Violence should be justified by specific list. Slavers and abusive men are fair game, maybe arrogant young masters. Everybody else are not really. It can lead to a situations that foes protagonist defeats are all cookie cutter that share characteristic from a very short "justified against" list.
Original novels doesn't have this limitation and cultivators are casually cruel. A character in the story can commit "cut the grass and yank the roots" even against the holy grail of western authors the "little girl" on industrial scale and still be considered orthodox cultivator.
So, if you are looking for a novel that doesn't treat reader with a kitty gloves that is your story.
As bonus, the novel is humorous and a bit goofy. - Azure HeavenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Good plot, characters who think and enemies with clear motives. MC is very likable. Fighting!!!

Pacing is good. It doesn't tire you out or makes people bored with slow burn. Romance isn't cringe. - RandomWyrmRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Unique story idea and well implemented. The elder perspective with the normal mcs being characters makes it interesting and shows other perspectives. The cultivation system seems robust and the characters are not shallow. - ShaolinPigSlayerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A good xianxia story. Recently, I’ve become really addicted to novels where the protagonist is the leader of a clan and works hard to strengthen his family and improve their status. This story follows that same idea. It may not bring anything extremely new or groundbreaking to the genre, but honestly, as long as the basics are done well, that is more than enough for me. I’m not a very demanding reader when it comes to this type of cultivation novel, so a solid execution is what matters most.
So far, I really like the protagonist. He doesn’t seem like one of those characters who goes around slapping everyone in the face or constantly looking for trouble. He’s also not extremely arrogant, which is definitely a positive point for me. Instead, he feels more level-headed and focused on growing stronger while helping his clan develop in a steady and believable way. I enjoy protagonists who have goals that make sense and don’t treat everyone around them like disposable minions.
Overall, if you're looking for a highly innovative cultivation system, complex world-building, or giant plot twists that flip the entire story upside down, then this might not be the novel for you. But if you're like me and simply want a straightforward, enjoyable cultivation story with a clan-building aspect and a protagonist who's easy to root for, you will probably have a good time reading this one. Sometimes, a simple but well-executed story can be exactly what we need. - SrayanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Hope you all enjoy this read as much as I have. I have found the interactions between characters to be enjoyable - obviously the “family head” MC role gives much more opportunity for social aspects of a story to be explored. There is also significant action/ magic elements and inter-clan and sect political elements typical of the Xianxia genre, but given an interesting spin by fact that the MC is taking responsibility and caring for an extended family, not just himself.
Please be aware - The author has passed on, and the remainder of the story is being uploaded by his young son in memoriam. So since it is being uploaded “as is”, advise on complex aspects of editing is unlikely to be all that helpful. I think most would bear this in mind when it comes to comments. - devcliedRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Overall, the plot is straightforward and executed exceptionally well. It doesn’t try to overcomplicate things with unnecessary twists or long-winded detours, which makes the story easy to follow and enjoyable from beginning to end. One of the strongest aspects of the writing is the author's ability to avoid unnecessary plot holes. Everything that happens has a clear reason behind it, and the internal logic of the world is consistent and believable. You won’t find characters making absurd decisions just to create drama, and there aren’t any plot devices thrown in just to extend the story artificially.
Conflicts are introduced in a natural way and resolved without being dragged out longer than necessary. The pacing feels balanced—fast enough to keep you hooked, but not so rushed that it skips over important development. The author shows a great understanding of when to build tension and when to deliver resolution, which keeps each chapter engaging. There’s a refreshing clarity to how the story progresses, and that alone sets it apart from a lot of other cultivation novels that rely on contrived obstacles or repetitive arcs.
Simply put, it’s well-crafted storytelling with thoughtful structure, where every scene serves a purpose and keeps the reader wanting more. - KilloginetRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0The translation takes a steep decline and it's very annoying. I love the story but the inconsistent mixing up of terms pulls me out of the story. Cultivaton realm names keeps changing along with sect names. It's hard to figure out what is going on at times. I really hope you can fix this...
- Michael GnizakRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0It’s a good interesting story. Nothing to profound but enjoyable. Unfortunately, it’s brought down by the numerous translation errors. Sect names change multiple times, clan names are also changed randomly. There is no consistency with the names for cultivator realms either. It adds a lot of pointless and unnecessary confusion to and otherwise solid story/book. Even the editing, outside the names for things randomly changing seems good.
- HeimskrRoyal Road★★ 2.0Very typical cultivation with a cheat system story of the sort where the POV character is entirely useless and just watches passively while the system does everything for him.
It's an entertaining enough type of story, and probably deserves a better than average rating in it's original language, but it's downfall here is the laziness of the translation.
The effect while reading feels somewhat similar to when an AI lets some detail slip out of it's context and it forgets the details so just fills in the blanks with hallucination.
As the story progresses the translation just... stops for more and more things, names, places, and then cultivation terms start off called one thing and then arbitrarily revert to untranslated versions.
Since this sub category relies heavily on simplicity in plot and 'humor' to carry the reader forward, the mild to moderate disruption caused by the sudden terminology changes weighs more heavily than it might in other styles. - GaskRoyal Road★ 1.0My last review was deleted for "not reviewing the content of the story", so here's some direct quotation and some summary of events to hopefully rectify the issue.
This would stand a much better chance of being a decent tale if everything in the first four chapters and beyond hadn't made it explicitly clear that success is guaranteed from the get go. The problem is that even a power fantasy requires an element of uncertainty to spice things up a bit from time to time or else things get boring very quickly. Unfortunately instead we have ridiculous system bonuses from chapter 1, mind reading, future knowledge and loyal geniuses falling from the skies to help out with whatever issue might arise.
This is the system reveal from chapter 1.
"What kind of system are you? Is it the 'Prosperous Offspring' one?"
The system's answer left him slightly disappointed.
"This system has one primary objective, two functions, and one passive effect."
"Objective: Assist the host in developing and expanding the clan. To that end, the system will gradually bestow 'Children of Destiny' upon the Fang clan to enhance the clan's fortune."
"Function 1: Host can hear the inner thoughts of the Children of Destiny."
"Function 2: For every increase in cultivation of a Child of Destiny, the host will receive double the benefit."
"Passive: Each time a Child of Destiny emerges in the clan, the talent of other clan members will also be enhanced."
The system's purpose and features were straightforward and easy to grasp.
In other words, the Fang clan would soon see the emergence of numerous Children of Destiny, each possessing unique cheat abilities.
Fang Ting could hear their inner thoughts.
Quite fitting, really. Everyone has their secrets—even among family, even with him as the clan leader—they wouldn't spill everything to him outright.
As these Children of Destiny grew stronger, Fang Ting's own cultivation would rise in tandem.
So all he had to do was nurture them, let them grow, and the system woul
