Wrath Reincarnated
Community Rating
Description
When cursed by Fate, embrace damnation.
In the magical world of Salvatica, Sins and Virtues are more than concepts of morality, they are given corporeal form.
Jules was born a Sin — the deadliest of them all. With his System set to unlock, he will soon learn if he is demon or saint.
Alongside his fox familiar Rukia, Jules will fight off cultists, militaries, other Sins and Virtues, and the many Factions of Salvatica. Will he fulfill his destiny as a Sin and summon the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, or will he rebel against Fate?
On second thought, why not both?

- BrotherHighGamblaJKRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great character progression - I love the buildup and can’t wait to see where this goes! You’ve done a great job of world building. The influences from other media is clear but you found a way to create something unique out of it. I’m very excited to keep reading. Nice work!
- Jack Wolfram-ReignRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Awesome story so far. After just discovering it I couldn’t stop reading until I was caught up. From characters to lore to the world itself, the author’s passion and care for this story makes itself known constantly. He builds a world filled with intense battles and emotions, complex characters, and an exciting plot that’s always driving forward. Looking forward to where the author takes the story next. Can’t wait to read more.
- MaloryRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0These opening five chapters - most of which are a prologue setting the scene - plunge the reader into a vast, bewildering world of cosmic forces, ancient grudges, and reincarnations.
Interestingly, it’s as if we’ve walked in during the final act of an epic play, and we’re still intrigued by all the mysteries. Kaizen’s struggle against Death and other mythic beings is grand and brutal, with bloody battles and transcendent powers.
Just when you might be beginning to think it’s all big abstractions, the story shifts into something more familiar: a frightened mother, a newborn baby glowing with energy, and an exasperated father. I think these element helps humanise the narrative and keeps it from spiralling into pure myth.
The grammar and punctuation are solid, though the prose can be dense, especially when introducing new magical concepts like Ryoku, Scripts, and Classes. Characters like Rukia, the fox familiar, bring much-needed humour, balancing the grim violence with jokes.
As the narrative moves forward, we follow the newly reincarnated as they face wolves and start to forge bonds with friends. There's more than the hint of Sanderson here, I think.
Overall, the opening sections of this book take a layered approach, blending grand themes with personal struggles. If you enjoy intricate fantasy worlds, complex rules, and watching characters try to outwit fate, these chapters provide plenty to mull over. - SagaScribeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story had me hooked right from the Prologue chapters. There is some deep lore that is revealed, just enough to frame the stakes without giving away all the answers. Was an amazing read honestly, some of the best writing I've seen in a while on Royal Road.
The flow into the next arc, where we follow Jules and others is seamless. The transition to the next arc flowed really well, and I had just the right amount of info to know where I was, but wanted to keep learning more about the world the story is set within.
What really shines where I've read up to is the characters. I actually think it's gaidjinn's biggest skill I've seen. Every character sings through with the lines that they deliver. Nothing is forced, emotion runs through each spoken word.
There's a lot of promise in the story, and I'm really excited to see how the magic system grows and is developed as I continue to read (and update this review). It's multilayered, with certain things needing to be hidden. The magic system seems well thought out in the chapters and I'm excited to see where it's taken.
As far as grammar goes, I didn't notice anything that stuck out.
Style wise, the author is dang talented when it comes to descriptions. Everything is really easy to visualize without being full of purpose prose. Just the right amount in my opinion. My only real complaint is that I wanted the chapters to be longer because I really liked the scenes and wanted more details, but I think that speaks to the quality of the story.
Excited to follow along, and I will be updating my review as I get furter in. EXCELLENT story with a ton to work, and a great writer to take us on a journey. - jzboyetteRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a relatively new author with a huge scope and vision - I’m proud to call him a personal friend. The story draws you in. I’m excited for new chapters to better get the backstory and lore. I think this is one of those features that’s about to pick up a ton of steam. Proud to be one of the first people to stumble upon it!
- sharpicus1Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Kept delivering nonstop every line. Loved the writing style. Will be back for more.
Style: The general feeling of the piece was like being inside the head of a professional boxer in the middle of a title fight. Fast paced and calculated where I could understand every move, but also I felt like I personally had to spring into action at times.
Story: Plot development and pacing was great. It started a little quick, but I kind of like being thrown right in. Once I got started reading I couldn’t stop because I wanted the see where it was going.
Grammar: The technical aspects of the writing were flawless. It was well punctuated and an easy read.
Character: The characters in the story are depicted in a realistic multi-faceted way where even main characters are flawed and not strictly paragons of virtue. Side characters are developed meaningfully in a way that aids the plot and enhances the reader’s understanding of the motives behind other’s actions.
Particularly loved the dialogue intertwined with the action sequences. It was written in such a way that was very engaging. Similar in style to how Sanderson writes action sequences in his Mistborn series which I also enjoyed. Looking forward to reading more from this author as his work develops. I have had the pleasure of meeting him in real life, and even though he looks like Sid the Sloth from Ice Age it turns out he can write really well! - SparkysushiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a well crafted story and the author clearly has a lot of ideas as to where they will take it going forward. The pacing is a bit fast (although it will hopefully mellow out a bit), and there is a lot that has already been set up from the prologue chapters.
The characters, we haven’t had a lot of time to really sit with them and have their backgrounds, as well as their drives and reasons for what they’re doing what they’re doing, explored as of yet.
The story is intriguing. A lot of the terminology is confusing (although I’m pretty sure that is on purpose by the powers that be in the setting). The power system has not really been explained fully, save for some bonus material in the authors note sections.
We do not have much background on the history of this world and what people really believe. We do not know how much of the truth people really know. At this point, there remains a lot of world building to be done.
Objectively? This is a good story with the potential to be great.
Subjectively? I’m not a fan of being kept so in the dark for 15+ chapters. I want lore, history, knowledge of the system that governs the world, as well as more character motivations. Idk if I’ll keep reading, or if I’ll drop. But, in either case, this is a really good story and I recommend you give it a shot. - caaaageRoyal Road★★ 2.0I was hooked on this story right from the jump. The characters are interesting and well-written. The story concept is fascinating. The magic mechanics are varied and solid. The mystery behind the story pulled me in and wouldn't let me go.
Which is why I'm so angry about dropping this story.
This could have been fantastic. The background, the upcoming story beats, everything had so much potential. But at some point I finally had to admit to myself that, after 130 chapters, I was simply too frustrated to continue reading a story that dangled so much just out of reach. Details, and spoilers, below.
The story starts off strong, with an epic battle between an unknown number of forces aligned along an unknown number of factions. The main character fails in his struggles and meets a mysterious end.
Cut to an unknown number of years in the future, where he saves his reincarnation via unknown and mysterious means.
Cut to an unknown number of years in the future, where the new main character is doing unknown and unexplained things with his father and unknown best friend, who we (FINALLY) find out later is an orphan. The world has changed, and uses a magic system with as-yet-unknown rules.
Starting to see the problem?
I wanted a crunchy magic system overlaying a deep, chewy backdrop. Instead, I got the story equivalent of Bertie Bott's Delayed-Flavor Beans, where every bite COULD be wonderful - but you won't get any of the taste until the end of the day.
Now, I like a bit of mystery as well as the next person. But when nothing is explained, and sometimes I can't tell who is saying what piece of dialogue, and I don't find out until 20 chapters after yet another time-cut that one of the characters was running a very lucrative secret underground gambling ring until his partner (both romantic and in crime) was caught and tortured and we've met her in the story since but had no idea he even KNEW her until 3 chapters past THAT...
It's offensive.
I'm angry.
What are Shrines? What are - SephirjonRoyal Road★ 0.5I'd have given this a 4/5, but I can't. This novel is NOT completed, and I wouldn't have started it if I had known that. At the end of volume 2, the author explains in detail how the remaining NINETEEN VOLUMES would have gone, and ends it like that. If you want to read a novel that will actually be finished at some point, look elsewhere.
