- DecieverRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I can't say much, except that it's one of a kind novel, like everything parky writes. It's that novel that would make you feel so uncomfortable, you want to read it to the end and stop it at the same time. If you're thinking this is a bluff, you're wrong. Parky crashed my balls with his novel so hard, it's still hurts. I would never re read it again, because when you read stuff like this, you could never forget it. You can read new chapters, but everything before? No, sir! Overall this is unique experience, i recommend it to everyone. This novel will always have a special pedestal in my favourites.
- HuntingHockeyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have read Parky's other story and I think that this is stronger. This story did a really good job in getting me to feel what Elias is feeling, I think that is the strongest part of the story for me so far. Parky does an excellent job in illustrating the emotions I think a real person would have if they were in Elias's place. I am really looking forward to seeing where the story goes!
PS
This story may not be for all people, if you don't like your MC to have life on hard mode, then this story may not be for you, but I'd still advise everyone to give this story a shot it has some very intresting takes on the future. - ZecRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0With You, in a Dreamlike World, has, thus far, proven itself to be almost entirely unique from the many stories I've read before. That isn't to say that the concepts themselves are unique, but how well the story is at getting the reader to care is unique. There aren't many stories that convince me to care, yet I can happily say this is one of them.
Emotions are horribly complex and no amount of words can ever properly portray them. Parky's work here isn't much different, but it doesn't need to be. Instead of trying to describe such vague things as emotions, the story instead tries it's best to instill the reader with emotion, most of which are negative. This rollercoaster of emotions better resembles a tragedy than anything else. Few people would ever dispute the excellence of Romeo and Juliet despite how terrible an ending it had.
I can't help but hate this story just a bit. For how wonderful it is, why must it be so depressing to read. Everything starts off great, and then starts descending with no sign of stopping. I suppose it wouldn't be inaccurate to say that this story's strengths lie in what terrible things it can make you feel.
There are some silver linings here in that the real story has only just started. There are so many possible directions for this story to go, and despite my best efforts, I can't wait to see what comes next. Even if the main story doesn’t appeal to you, I would recommend the prologue to just about anyone.
Reviewers notes:
The description doesn’t do this story justice. When I first read it, I thought this was going to be a coming of age story. Which was a weird mindset to have considering the tags present. As of the time of writing, I don’t see this story going that route. Not that it’s impossible, but I doubt it.
