Description

Roland Arnow is the last of his breed. A witch hunter of a purged order fighting for a cause long lost, he has evaded capture and death more times than he can count. Yet when the assassination of sorcerer Orrin Skye brings his actions to the attention of king and kingdom, it will take all his wits and experience to evade the executioner's noose. With few allies and the royal investigators closing in, nowhere remains safe for the fugitive, his every step dogged by relentless pursuit. Prudence would suggest he flee the nation, to save his life and live out his years in obscurity, yet he cannot do so while one missive remains, a quest of great import set long before the orders fall. Even now, in dire peril, honor demands he see the task through, yet with royal forces drawing near, time may very well be running out.

The story is a bit of a slow burn, heavy on dialogue, and more in the vein of traditional fantasy novels.

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated, whether in regard to plot, pacing, characters, grammar, or any other facets of the story.

My aim will be to release new chapters every weekend. Be sure to follow to stay on top of all the newest updates! Thank you for reading, and hope you enjoy!

So, let's talk about the style first. The story is like a movie playing in your head, but you're the director. The dialogue and exposition are like a well-choreographed dance that keeps you on your toes. But, let's be honest, sometimes the descriptions can feel like you're trying to wade through a thick forest. A little trimming here and there wouldn't hurt.
Now, the story is something else. The world-building I believe is ok, and the plot keeps you guessing. It's clear that the author has put a lot of thought into their development. The story unfolds with a good mix of action, suspense, and mystery. The whole witch hunting angle? Pretty cool, if you ask me. But, and there's always a but. The motivations of some characters could be clearer and sometimes the plot can feel like a tangled ball of yarn. A little untangling could go a long way.
The MC is Roland, a witch hunter from Malthoria. He is a character of depth, with a strong sense of justice and a disdain for hasty judgments. His character is well-developed, with a clear moral compass and a dedication to his work that is admirable.
Roland's interactions with other characters, such as the Alderman Torin Ham and the witch hunter Hellik, reveal a lot about his character and the dynamics within the story. His conversation with Torin Ham in Chapter 11, showcases his scepticism and his commitment to truth. He challenges the Alderman's hasty judgment of a young man accused of witchcraft, insisting on conducting his own investigation. This scene also highlights the tension between Roland and Hellik, another witch hunter, who seems to be more willing to accept the accusations without thorough investigation.
One scene that stands out is in Chapter 10, where Roland confronts a powerful sorcerer. The description of the sorcerer's magic, the tension of the confrontation, and Roland's resolve to uphold justice despite the danger, all contribute to a thrilling and memorable scene. The author has created a world where witch hun

Witch Hunter's Creed: Pariah, written by author Jsimacek, is an epic fantasy story littered with gunplay and JUSTICE, following Roland Arnow, who is a member of an old order of witch-hunters. Now long disbanded, he travels the land, acting as a gun-toting assassin specialized in hunting those who are magically inclined — witches and their ilk.
The story features a very slow burn but with such tension that I didn’t notice it at all, especially the current trial-arc lends itself so very well to the dialogue heavy writing.
The characters, primarily Roland honestly, are all well done. But Roland has an extremely enjoyable personality, and I really enjoyed how he someone manages to keep digging himself in deeper for the sake of it, even if it’s the exact opposite of what he should be doing.
The grammar and spelling are both on point, and the author has an excellent vocabulary, from which I took a few notes myself. The prose and flow are both very, very strong.
If you want to read a tense, gun fantasy intrigue story about a sneaky witch-hunter with an ego far too big for someone with his need of subtlety, then you should give this one a fair shot! =)

Witch Hunter's Creed: Pariah is an engaging and gritty story that delves into the life of Roland, a witch hunter on the run.
The writing style employed in the story creates a vivid and immersive atmosphere. The descriptions of the surroundings contribute to a sense of place. The pacing is generally well-handled, with moments of tension and action interspersed effectively. The use of descriptive language helps to paint a picture for the reader, engaging their senses and enhancing the reading experience.
However, there are some inconsistencies, such as the huge chunk of paragraphs on chapter 1, 3 and 4 that are very hard to read for me, as well as some of the readers, while the rest of the chapters are properly split in short paragraphs. The only thing I can say about is to, maybe cut the huge paragraphs into smaller parts? Well, overall, I like it.
Now for the story. It effectively establishes the atmosphere of a dark and treacherous world through vivid descriptions and Roland's internal monologue. The author's use of gritty details adds to the story's realism and enhances the reader's connection to the protagonist's struggle. The world building is also a new thing for me. The author really likes making things mysterious when it comes either to the world history, character background, and such. Well, all I could say is that the story is pretty interesting so far.
In terms of grammar, the narrative demonstrates a generally strong command of language. Sentences are well-structured and coherent, effectively conveying the events and emotions of the story. There are a few minor errors and inconsistencies, such as occasional missing or misplaced commas, and a few instances where pronoun references could be clearer. However, these do not significantly hinder the overall understanding or flow of the narrative, so I won't make a big deal out of it.
As for character, the main character, Roland, is well-defined as a skilled and determined witch hunter. The story hints at his pa
