Wild Thought - An Adventure LitRPG
Community Rating
Description
Summary and tags will be updated as the story progresses:
A Tulpa is a being made of pure collective thought that can affect the world around them. Luna is not a Tulpa. She’s a thoughtform and a slave, but only until she uses collected thoughts from across the earth to do the impossible; grant the wish of her contractor and bring it to reality, therefore tying her to the bounds of the mortal world. Just one wish and she could be free.
If only his wish wasn’t for mass destruction on an unimaginable scale. And it would also be nice if he wasn’t such a hopeless nerd.
Victoria Gale is plunged into a new reality facing forces she cannot understand. Armed with the knowledge of RPGs and a general genre-savvy attitude, can she face the coming chaos, or will she fall to death and darkness? Will she face the new world unchanged, or be changed by it into something else?
And how do you remain true to yourself when the world tries to force you into comical character tropes?
Join her and many others, as they fight against their own natures. (plus monsters, evil gods, homicidal dictators, LARPers, traps (both kinds), and the occasional errant hero, bent on smashing pots)
This is a rewrite of Ideascape: An Adventure LitRPG, reimagined with better characters, world-building, and story.
Thanks for Reading!
What to Expect:
Dynamic Characters: Vic will start out naïve and idealistic, but will shift into someone more mature as the story progresses.
A smart-ish lead: She can make mistakes, and certainly isn't infallible, but tends to stay on the right track.
Fights: Combat is fun to write, so... there it is.
Side Characters: There are a lot of people in the world, and Vic is just one of them. The world will move on without her to guide it.
Fun Character Archetypes: They'll pop up every once in a while. You'll know em' when you see em'.
What NOT to expect:
Slice of Life: Yep, things are actually going to happen, and those things will matter to the plot.
Grimdark.
Sex Scenes.

- CorpseInTheCornerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is the rewrite of an old favourite of mine, as it says in the title. 2 chapters in, and I can already tell the quality of writing has been improved, and I am looking forward to the improved characterisation.
Already, the protagonist's history has been expanded, characters seem to have a lot more depth to them (or at least it looks like it, there may be depth or it may just be an image of depth). - CrownlessRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is the first time i'm writing a review, so i have no clue about what to write, except that i really like this story.
The original version was one of the first litrpgs i ever read, and one of the reasons i grew to love the genre, so when i discovered this rewrite I was very happy.
While i already liked the old version, this looks to be better in everything, from the characters to the story and the pacing of the events.
So thank you Falc0n for coming back to this story, i am really excited to see were it will go. - ErrrrrrrrRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Dear Falc0n
I enjoyed the original story and was sad when it just stopped.
over the years i hoped it was just a break, longer break, looooong break.
so imagine what happend when i saw, last updated: Now, YAY.
started reading immediately. did not disapoint :)
The story feels smoother than the original, the chapter lengt is better in my oppinion (im a slow reader and like to take my time, i do not enjoy a 4 hour read chapter most of the time) and shorter chapters mean more updates? (hope so)
Shit happens, Stuff happens, but whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger!!¿
Keep up this piece of art of a story, but also think abbouth your own wellbeing.
Good luck and enjoy (ill keep reading in the meantime :) ) - GreeneRulesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A promising rewrite of a story dropped years ago. The previous story was great and the first few chapters show that this one could be significantly better.
With the lessons that the author has learned from the previous story, I can't see this story being anything but amazing.
I can't wait to see where Vic's adventures lead her. - Hagar HawthorneRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I read the previous version this story as it was coming out as was a bit sad that it wasn't being uploaded anymore But I was still following it. I was pleasantly surprised when I got an update on it an got news that it would be rewritten I've read the first part of chapter one and the prologue and am excited to read more
- J GreyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0TLDR: This is one of the best, most unique System-Apocalypse stories I've ever seen. Check it out.
The original (Ideascape) was one of my all-time favorite System-settings, and I'm thrilled it's getting revived.
The main issues that inevitably turn me off of System-lit and Lit-RPG novels are:
1) The MC becoming OP incredibly fast and the story being forced into increasingly-bland shark-jumping escalations that rapidly lose impact
2) Everyone involved immediately knowing how to minmax their skills and use a system, making the implicit "what if I was in this" question fall flat
3) The System itself being a perfect, platonic ideal built by mysterious ancient smart people who can't be questioned. Usually to cover the author running out of steam to plan a system
This overcomes and directly subverts all 3.
The System itself is, expllicitly from jump, the result of a colaboration between an ignorant but low-empathy human, and a very powerful but highly restricted and naive nonhuman entity. They make mistakes. They have to patch it. This is the most believable take I can remember seeing on how something like a system-apocalypse would happen; someone with a special interest in RPG systems falls ass-backwards into real power and takes it too far.
The MC is, while 'special' for being the first one to test the system, literally chosen at random. She's not a secret princess, she doesn't have some hidden well of martial or magical power that was just waiting to be unlocked. She's a newly-graduated, mediocre graphic designer who won the power lottery and actively struggles with how to handle it. It's so much more engaging and makes me care so much more abotu her struggles because she's just... some woman, who got kind of lucky, doing her best. She definitely grows in power, but she really struggles for it, messes up, sometimes has to retreat or just give up and find a new plan. She spends weeks in a dungeon fighting for her life and gets
some boots and gloves. Minor rewards and ex - John VRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The author had previously dropped this story several years ago.
However they have returned and this promises to be even better story than the original, with better writing, planning, story, and characters.
I look forward to seeing the adventures of vic and company as they Traverse this new world and navigate a new system. - Malakta SeoylRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story has a lot more polish with this rewrite and still holds an enjoyable and engaging charm. Events and fights are actually portrayed realistically, such as fights lasting very little time, and give you a real sense of this world. As mentioned in the synopsis, the MC is flawed, but tries to be good. The makes you feel like these people are real, even to the point of making decisions that sometimes don't make sense at first. It's honestly amazing how far this story has come. I look forward to this story's future!
- NotoriouskhamiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm happy you're back. This was the first story I read on RR and also the first story I supported on patrion. The old story wasn't perfect but I feel that it had heart and a strong premise. I'm excited for the rewrite and happy that this gem of a story can continue. I've read the first few chapters and I'm excited to read more.
- Sharp_Claw111Royal Road★★★★ 4.0I enjoyed the first iteration of this story and with this new one I have seen massive improvements particularly in the application of skill lists. The massive reduction in skills is fantastic as it means I am not scrolling through information i mostly know and it isn't shown as much.
Style
While it is pretty similar to a lot of other litrpg apocalypseses it does a good job of putting its own unique spin on it that we will learn more about later.
Story
I am very interested in the changes to the story particularly how quickly things are coming along in relations to guild and involvement of gods. I am also very happy with changes done to the system so far.
Grammer
I am no Grammer wizard but it is good Grammer if I can read what is going while reading fast.
Character
The characters have enough personality to get me interested. One of the things that I was happy about from the last iteration was characters sticking to a characters theme and the fact it really is looking that way makes me happy.
Overall 4/5
I enjoyed reading and I want more. It does make me feel a little weird how fast things feel to be going but I see the reasons behind things happening this way and am not mad.
P.S. I really hope that the author continues on writing no matter what kind of negativity is going on.
