- kleptomaticRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Honestly? I really just clicked on this because I was bored one day. It's short and gets the job done. The plot is engaging, but, by virtue of being short, it also felt somewhat rushed.
In my opinion, the worldbuilding is good for how short the story is. After the zombie apocalypse was defeated, society had regressed to a semi-medieval era stage, but some people have guns. The melding of these two time periods was well done.
That's really all of my thoughts on this without spoilers.
Now for ending spoilers:
The ending feels somewhat anticlimactic, as it basically is just "the monster dies but not before it reinfects the population."
However, the ending afterwards is done beautifully. It shows how resigned the characters are to death, and yet they keep on fighting.
Also the poem at the end is excellent.
