Welp, Time to Spray Vinegar (and Salt) Upon the Terrors of the World

Description
Zaelen has been reincarnated after a friend (wait, if your friend kills you, is your friend still a friend?) killed him, long story short. But of course, Zaelen was never lucky. And of course he still isn't! Now, he's been dumped into a different world with completely no idea (well, maybe some idea) of what's happening and how the world works. The system also appears to pity him! Well, in this case, the most logical decision is to RUN!
This isn't ongoing anymore:
I plan to release an official version later. I'll keep this up though.

- S.D. HussRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This book caught me a bit off guard with how light hearted and funny it was. The flow and banter between Zaelen and the various companions and characters keeps the story lighthearted in a way, but it also has some pretty cool battle scenes that keep you engaged.
Style: The style of this story is easygoing and casual, for lack of better words. It keeps you engaged but not on edge. It was a pretty nice change of pace to be honest. I like how the author gives Zaelen (the main character) plenty of time to banter with the system and a colorful cast of followers.
Story: The story is interesting. I found myself having fun reading each chapter and before I knew it, I was at the end of what is currently available. It follows Zaelen, who is a man who was betrayed and killed. Then wakes up to find himself a dragon. Along the way he develops a very hilarious hatred for slimes, and I won't spoil it, but something really cool happens with a pack of slime-wolves.
Characters: Zaelen is a very entertaining main character. Lots of spunk and personality. Which melds well with the surrounding characters. Namely the ‘system’ which is the narrative voice of this LitRPG world. They have some pretty entertaining banter.
Grammar: I didn’t pay too much attention to this. If there were any major issues, I didn’t notice because I was focused on the story.
Overall I would recommend this comedic LitRPG to anyone who wants to enjoy themselves and get lost in a colorful cast of characters. I enjoyed what is available so far, and am looking forward to what comes next! - LinkoRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The story shows great creativity, coming from the protagonist's obsession with killing slimes and the great effects that salt & vinegar have on his enemies.
The comedy is on point most of the time, the banter between Zaelen, his servants, and the system gives a nice lighthearted feel to the story which doesn't seem to want to be very gruesome. The action scenes keep you hooked on a system that isn't too overwhelming to look at or understand.
My only real gripe with the story is that the starting scene, Zaelen's death by his friend, Isn't really explored in the story and feels more like a plot device to get the main character to another world instead of an important moment of betrayal. - LittleSkellyRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Disclaimer: This is part of a review swap
Overall: Very great premise and I enjoy reading the story. It does have some ups and downs though. The story isn't very comedic, but this isn't the reason for my rating since comedy is very subjective. It's the way that the characters were written that makes me pause. This is something I will expand more on in the character and story section.
This review isn't a one catch-all to the whole book so readers should try to check it out and see if it's something they would like before basing their opinion on my review.
Character: While the characters are very interesting and stand out with their personalities, they do feel a little bit noted. Now, this opinion of mine might not be right because it's normal in comedy and/or because we haven't seen that many of the characters.
The characters, specifically the mc, seem kind of ...well he is not very intelligent. This isn’t a bad thing, but it wasn’t pulled off very effectively here in my opinion.
Story: The premise in the beginning knocks it out of the water, but as we continue to read, a lot of this is somewhat bogged down to make room for comedies which is not bad, but not great either.
Grammar: It looks pretty fine in this category for me. Check out other reviewers' opinions on this aspect.
Style: From what I have seen so far, the style is a tad bit fast-paced, but it contributes to the overall story and flows pretty well.
*note to author: Keep up the good work. This story has potential to improve* - SoaringMoonRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0The way the formatting of the story, for a LitRPG is tableless, which reminds me much of a LitRPG story I was writing in high school. Much more appropriate for a book. I prefer this way of showing stats and abilities over the way they are typically shown in modern web fiction; with all of the colorful tables and heading labels. This was well formatted given those limitations.
The story is a relatively standard roleplaying game monster combat progression with the first of these chapters each encountering a specific challenge the main character Zaelen is intended to overcome. At first he struggles to survive and unlocks abilities which assist him in overcoming these challenges.
I found my biggest issue with these chapters was that the dialouge was frequent, and quite often did not get paired with quotation marks which made it difficult to read. Especially, given the amount of framework formatted needed for the roleplaying game elements of the story. It needs some more foundational visual marks to differentiate key information from story dialogue otherwise; the content lives up to the authors promises.
The characters include Zaelen, the mc; his "brother" Licerys who sets this journey in motion; and a "mentor master" character Akyro. Basic storytelling archetypes which I don't mind in the slightest. They work well for this story.
Altogether, after a bit of maturity and practice with the interface and formatting for the story of this particular platform; it will be a gem. Currently, it is just solid work.
