Description

Welcome to a place that is both weird and wondrous. Welcome to the World of Lovecraft. I hope you’ll enjoy your time here.

Are you familiar with H. P. Lovecraft? That’s the ‘Lovecraft’ I’m referring to. And he was not a very lovey-dovey kind of guy. He wrote horror. Cosmic horror. He was, and is, in my opinion, the King of Horror.

And I’ve borrowed heavily from his ideas for this work, as well as many other intellectual properties that you might recognize. I am a kaleidoscope of every piece of media I’ve ever consumed. And I have consumed a lot.

But enough about me, let’s talk about Kthulha. She is our protagonist. She is an avatar in a video game that is self-aware. She knows she’s being controlled by a player from outside her universe. She feels her marionette strings. But she’s no dummy; she has a brain. She knows things. She was loaded up with ‘Pre-Knowledge’ to give her leg up over the NPCs with lore. Some of the pre-knowledge is encrypted; it’s been locked away and waiting for her to remember it.

Also, she knows how to speak English. She knows, in an abstract way, what the World of Lovecraft is about. And, most importantly, she knows she’s an avatar. She knows she isn’t actually ‘real’ in the traditional sense. She’s a video game person. We meet up with her in the first chapter just as soon as she’s been birthed from the character creation screen.

A quick advertisement: this is following the same trajectory as all my other works. Characters who know they're characters. Fiction that realizes it's fiction. Post-fiction. Omnifiction. True Fiction.

This has been a labor of Love(craft). I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
