Description

Death is not the end. For Zyrus Wymar, it is an opportunity to kill the Eternal, undying Parasites. Humanity journeys through a wormhole to escape a dying Earth, only to find themselves trapped in a new kind of hell called the Sanctuary. The rules are simple for their new reality: kill monsters, gain levels, and survive. But Zyrus knows better after regressing on an abandoned earth. A universe-spanning alien invasion has been going on for eons, and the Eternals who rule the Sanctuary are merely wardens of a galactic fodder manufacturing plant. To slay them and make up for his regrets, Zyrus casts aside his human form and embraces a bloodline that evolves through carnage. He studies humanity’s records on quantum theories and forges his own power from cultivating Void laws. His ambition doesn’t stop at revenge. A war is raging on to claim the origin of the universe, and he will erase anything in existence to eat it. Great mc without the weakness of empathy and conscience. He doesn't get anything without work so none of that "system gives me everything crap". I look forward to seeing how the story unfolds and how he uses his prior knowledge to change and empower himself and his allies. Easy 5 stars.

I'm enjoying the story so far. It's a well-written regression novel that stands out from other "System" or regression stories that I have read. I believe the beginning of We Are Void is better than most other regressions because, with stories like these, a strong premise before the regression and meaningful changes afterward are crucial to avoid a future-knowledge speedrun with no surprises.
(This is bound to happen somewhat with any regression, but knowing the MC is lacking in something or isn't in full control is good.)
Fortunately, this one has a nice balance of control and mystery (for the MC and the reader). The main character has already deviated from his original path in significant ways, and we're only 13 chapters in. That makes me excited to see how much further the story will diverge.
So far, it's laying a solid foundation for future arcs
    Good luck, Herlad of Chaos!

Have you read Machiavelli? "And here comes in the question whether it is better to be loved rather than feared, or feared rather than loved. It might perhaps be answered that we should wish to be both; but since love and fear can hardly exist together, if we must choose between them, it is far safer to be feared than loved."
"Any man who tries to be good all the time is bound to come to ruin among the great number who are not good. Hence a prince who wants to keep his authority must learn how not to be good, and use that knowledge, or refrain from using it, as necessity requires."
    Niccolò Machiavelli, The Prince
And the protagonist here is possibly the best Machiavellien character I've come across. An enjoyable exciting and gripping tale.

This story is one hell of a ride. I've been enjoying it. Also now that I'm all caught up I'm going to let the chapters accumulate more. In other words time for hibernation.
You'll likely see me comment once I've come back. So I'll see you on the flip side...
