Description

When Ren learned she had less than a year to live, she knew she had to find the cure.  Her search put her directly in the line of fire of Atlas, a powerful megaconglomerate that no sane person would stand against. Luckily, sanity was not one of the conditions Ren suffered from. The cure wasn't supposed to work, and that was a problem Atlas intended for someone to find. Ren was captured and held prisoner like a test subject and pressed into using the cognitive weapons the cure awakened in her. When an outside entity rescues her from captivity, it also hands her an offer promising power she never imagined, with a very simple price: her soul. Follow Ren as she dominates minds, repairs broken worlds, and fails to maintain a consistent gender across lives. Her closest companion is a mental construct she put a lot of effort into getting just right, yet manages to defy her expectations and break her programming, nonetheless. After all Ren was just too cute for her not to. I eagerly anticipate the promise of serial transmigration.
The story so far is great, with a really interesting take on a mental manipulation powerset, with plenty of memetic nonsense to play with. The choice to skip over some of the initial struggles in learning how the main character's powers work is well excecuted, and the setting is overall intriguing.

a great story so far even if it is still very much in the set up phase, the system is shaping up to be one of the most unique ones ive seen, where even the very stats themselves are personalized to each person and their aspect.the characters are also unique but might not be for everyone. mc is a psychopath who casually violates the minds of those around her, extracting, implanting and modifying memories and emotions without hesitation. at the same time she is also trying to be as "good" as possible even if she has to figure out the definition of "good" as she goes using different moral systems.overall it is quite a good story that I look forward to seeing develop, and I was very disappointed when the next button stopped working lol

Wanderer of Dust is an extremely good serial that I wouldn't be surprised to see near the top of rising stars if the right people find it.
    Style: 5 stars
This story's setting and premise are top-notch. It starts from a cyberpunk setting, but quickly shifts towards heavy focus on a magic system that relies on conceptual and thematic throughlines to shape how everything works. It's a unique take on magic, and combined with the excellent prose and interesting perspective of the protagonist, it all comes together into something special.
    Story: 3.5 stars
The plot itself has been fairly interesting so far, though it is still transitioning out of the stage where the dominoes of the story are being set up. Quickduckling chooses to forego a lot of exposition in favor of simply demonstrating how things work. This has mixed results; It takes a little extra thought to understand what's going on for a while, but in the end it does turn out to be worth it, at least for me. The bulk of the narrative is much more focused on character work at this point than it is on pushing the plot forward, which is fairly common as far as psychological drama goes.
    Grammar: 5 stars
The spelling and grammar is good; I haven't managed to spot any typos so far, and the sentence structure is varied enough that it never gets boring or predictable. No notes.
    Character: 5 stars
Wanderer has placed most of its focus in these early stages on exploring the main character, Wren, as well as establishing the rest of the immediate cast and Wren's relationships with each of them. This does a lot of good for the story: Wren provides an extremely interesting perspective with interesting priorities, modalities of thought, worries, and flaws. This is enhanced further by the interplay between her and the rest of the main cast, especially Aurin. Character driven stories are always my favorites and this one delivers hard.

Honestly really interesting, curious to see where it goes!
Reminds me a bit of the stage from "the flower that bloomed nowhere"
There are a lot of character specific quirks so far, and I hope that we start getting a peek into the underlying logic behind them, both backstory and dust mechanics. Otherwise there's a risk of everything being too narratively convenient.

I'll focus on a few points.
First, all stories have some level of exposition.  Most stories on Royal Road have too much exposition, or it's done clunkily.  This story goes the other way: There's very little exposition and a lot needs to be inferred from a very broad set of neonyms. Makes it very hard to get into.
Second, for a serial transmigration story, it is slow. At 36 chapters and 327 pages, we might (might!) be getting to the end of life 1.

This is a unique story with excellent writing and interesting characters. It is certainly worth trying for that alone.
My major issue with the story is that a lot of it doesn’t really matter. For the amount of time spent with certain characters or doing certain things, there isn’t the payoff I expected. The transmigration and reality bending aspects of the story makes this especially difficult, as lives will be left behind or the world changed at whim.
The overall narrative of the story is weak, even if every individual element is strong.

    Not for me.
Not generally a fan of time skip stuff and I didn't relate to the characters.
This will definitely pique others interest though.
The setting is dystopian which I usually don't go for, but this version wasn't too bad.
It's not a super long book so if you are interested at all just read a few chapters.
    Ciao
