I'm finding the first book very well written, a classic fantasy fairy tale of two mysterious characters wandering through the woods. Some slice of life parts move a little slower but there is good pacing and the tension ramps up with supernatural horror. Theres a familiar sense of a fairytale traveling through the Black Forest and stumbling upon a witch's hovel or troll's cave. Looking forward to reading through the rest.

Great, engaging story, characters that draw you in, and enough hints at a wider world to make you want more.
Clovercloverclover has created a magical art piece that brings their world to life with fantastic characters, a rich RICH history and more.
While the setting might not suit everyone, I would recommend this to anyone who likes a well planned world, with great foreshadowing, and mysterys within mysteries.
I can only hope they have a chance to continue Martims story.

This is the best novel I have found on RR so far. Well written - grammarlly and linguistically. A true high fantasy story, difficult to find something like this amongst hundreds of litrpgs, I have nothing against them, I even love Azarinth Healer, for example, but none of them cam hold a candle against Wander West, In Shadow. The author really know to build up the mystery as well as the tension through the story. I even had a nightmare with the bogge man last night lol. The pace is also really good as well. Compared to most works here, it looks professional, coming for a seasoned writter. Marvelous!

A nice unfolding of character and scenario, with little to no "tell", and a developed and descriptive "show".
If you want things handed to you this might be a bit frustrating, however I like the slower pace and organic character reveal.
Feedback on the first arc, perhaps do additional research on people raised away from civilization and their reactions and miscommunications. That element felt a bit shallow / unconsidered to this once near feral character.

Superb story. I read it every chance I got. The world building is top notch and very imaginative. The mysteriousness always keeps me on edge of my seat and makes me wonder about deeper mysteries of the world. The characters are extremely likeable and full of personality. In every single way this is an amazing story. The only bad part is that it hasn't been updated in a while.

Overall: A great slow-burn, traditional fantasy with very slight elements of Sci-Fi. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and impatiently await the next.
Style: As mentioned, the story is slower-paced than some might be used to, but not so slow that the author seems like they are meandering for no reason. There is purpose to each sentence. My slight gripe with the style is the author's repeated use of "though" and "but" when they are not neccesary, mostly at the start of sentences. This isn't a major detraction--something a light round of revisions could fix, if they truly needed fixing at all. The story has elements of horror in it, as the antagonist is often much more dangerous than most books usually have, which give a real sense of stakes for the reader.
Grammar: By RR standards, the grammar is phenomenal. There are a few typos here and there but nothing major.
Story: The story is engaging, not too predictable, and each arc was wrapped up nicely. There are plenty of foundations laid for the future plot. By the end of book one, I found myself disappointed that there was not more.
Characters: The characters are fleshed out, each with their own personality and behavior that is molded realistically by their backstory.

I truly, genuinely, recommend this book. Give it a try, you will like it.
Style: Very well written, not too long, not to short, the descriptions were apropriate length wise. And I warn you, do not skim this book. You will get lost.
At some point, some.. Accenting starts, which is quite annoying to say the least, especially to non native speakers. But, with a bit of re reading, you will figure it out.
Grammar: No problems I noticed, no overly complicated or medieval words are used, they speak in a modern way which is easy to understand. No typing errors that my eyes have detected, although admitably I am very good at ignoring them.
Story: Now this is where it shines
The story, is really, really, well made. Not very predictable, and highly enjoyable, tensions are high when they ought to be, and calm when they shouldn't.
This world isn't all lilies and roses, be aware, but it's not some sort of horror show.
    Character
All characters are very well made. Likeable & unique. They are well made, with detailed history which will be explored.
    Absolutely wonderful.
    Overall 5/5
Truly, a great, wonderful book. I rarely give high praise to books, but this earned it.

What a great book, well done Author. This is a really well thought out and planned novel. The pacing is good and consistent throughout, when it ends there's no cliffhanger but it also sets up future books really well which means it's a very satisfying read.
The magic feels very well done and organic, not very gamelike which is a plus ie the magic is like Gandalf in the movies not like Gandalf in the tabletop RPG.
The characters are well rounded and the ones that matter are deep which is refreshing.
Worth a read and will read more when I can.

20 chapters in and I already knew this would become one of my favourites on RR. It may get a little slow paced in the later parts and I felt impatient but I am starving for any further content
To put it simply: this story is crack to me and I need more

(please bear in mind this is only a review of the first arc) I didn't think I was in the mood for a dark fantasy when I first picked this up, but the adventurous spirit of the lighter fare I normally read is still here too! I gave it such a high rating because it overcame my doubts almost instantly. I thoroughly enjoyed the first arc. The story was very well conceived with a wonderfully rich world  implicit in many of the details; a world I am very much looking forward to exploring with these characters.
The characters have their mysteries, which I am very much looking forward to being uncovered. The central duos relationship to each other is treated with admirable frankness and tantalisingly interesting dynamics, and so far forgoes, in my opinion, any frustrating tropes. The style was enjoyable. Not my typical fare, but the dialect chosen for the dialogue comes across naturally which is surely due to the skill of the writer. Only one repeatetd word I spotted. Well composed sentences that build together beautifully. The structuring is managed very well, and I think that this is what was so impressive about the whole thing, right from the beginning it really built and gathered in a convincing way, allowing for spaces and pauses and then ramping up the tension and delivering on it. The story was a simple one, but that's a good way to get people like me who enjoy an easy read along for the ride.
